Hope in Jesus Alone

“As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand; for you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:5-6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Don’t put your hope and confidence in a certain something, whether it be a project, an investment, a person, an organization.

It is true that you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.

When we start justifying with our mind and natural reasoning to support why something will surely work out, it is dangerous. The Book of Proverbs says that there is a way that seems right to a man, but it is a way that leads to death.

When that thing you are hoping in falls apart, you will be crushed if you placed all your hope and confidence in it. It is unwise to trust in temporal, visible things in this fallen world.

Let us put all our hope and confidence in the Lord Jesus. He is the eternal one that we can trust.

We do not know the way God works and many times, we have to just be okay with not knowing. Just believe that He is working on your situation.

When we have faith in Jesus, we will not be trusting in the individual methods. Our confidence will be in the one who blesses the work of our hands, and who gives us favor in the way that we go. No matter what He places His favor on, that is what will prosper. Be wise and keep your hope only in Him!

Fulfilled Prophecies about Jesus Christ

It is amazing that Psalm 22 was written roughly 1000 years before Jesus Christ was born, and yet it accurately predicts the way that He would die.

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?” (Psalms‬ ‭22:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus said these words while on the cross. You could argue that He knew the Scriptures and could have easily quoted them.

But surely He couldn’t orchestrate the way people would despise and insult Him while He hung on the cross. Even the words used are the same:

“But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying, “He trusts in Yahweh; let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”” (Psalms‬ ‭22:6-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When the Roman soldier pierced Jesus’ side, blood and water flowed out, showing that His heart was literally broken (ruptured).

“I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me.” (Psalms‬ ‭22:14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

He was thirsty. Remember He said “I thirst.”

“My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.” (Psalms‬ ‭22:15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus’ hands and feet were nailed to the cross. His body was torn by the stripes inflicted by the whip lashes He endured.

“For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet. I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.” (Psalms‬ ‭22:16-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The expensive robes that Jesus wore were from Herod’s palace, so the Roman soldiers gambled for His robes, at the foot of the cross.

“They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” (Psalms‬ ‭22:18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

It is amazing how many prophecies about the Messiah are in this psalm alone. Jesus fulfilled them at the cross.

One more remains unfulfilled:

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the nations shall worship before you. For the kingdom is Yahweh’s. He is the ruler over the nations. All the rich ones of the earth shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust shall bow before him, even he who can’t keep his soul alive.” (Psalms‬ ‭22:27-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

This one will be fulfilled when Jesus returns to reign on earth. He will set up His physical kingdom on earth and reign over the earth for a thousand years with us, until the final Satanic rebellion.

The preceding prophecies in Psalm 22 have already been fulfilled, so we believe and are certain that all the remaining prophecies will be fulfilled too.

“And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison, and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. They went up over the width of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them. The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation‬ ‭20:7-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

This real-life story has a happy ending. The devil will be torment continually, and we will enjoy eternity with God forever. Are you excited? I am! Hallelujah!

Iekei ramen with a stable taste! I visited Shimonagaya "Kan-ni-ya" in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture! 我選擇了去池袋, 原本沒有想去無敵家拉麵店的 I chose to go to Ikebukuro. I did n’t expect to go to the Mutekiya ramen shop at first.

因為每次聽到排隊要一個小時才有得吃 Because I have heard that at least 1 hour to wait for the queue

其實因為店內的座位極少, 只有17個座位 In fact, because there are very few 17 seats in the store

The most basic kick in Wing Chun and one of the most effective. It can come from the front leg or the back leg when in a fighting stance (Biu Ma, like in Chum Kiu). Kicking off the front leg is very fast but not as powerful as kicking off the back leg which is itself slightly slower. The difference is like the difference between a straight punch and a turning punch (one is faster the other is more powerful). They are the same kick but can be used for different purposes depending on what is most important at the time (quicker time to target or more power). The front kick tends to aim for the knee, crotch, shin or ankle. The front kick strikes with the heel of the foot. Like a punch, the kick should not be chambered. The heel (though not the knee) should move in a straight line to the target as its the fastest route. The kick can be used to stop someone attacking you with a punch or takedown.
