Throwback to a story I told for job interview.
It happened in my flight from Tokyo to LA, a man was a business trip in Tokyo and going back to LA, where his daughter’s home to see his three year old grandson for the last time. The boy, into a coma by car accident, was being taken off of life support at that evening so his organs could be used to save other lives. The man’s wife called airline company to arrange the last-minute flight and explained the emergency situation.
Unfortunately, the man was held up by tokyo traffic and long lines at NRT and didn’t make it to the gate on time. When he finally made it there 10 minutes after the plane was scheduled to leave, he was shocked to find the captain and all our crews waiting for him. This is our team made a decision to wait, He thanked the pilot profusely and us, our captain said, “They can’t go anywhere without me, and we wasn’t going anywhere without you." During the flight, I made a card for him, I told him, I can totally understand how he feels, because I couldn't met my grandfather the last time, I was in the air, we've all been there, I know it's so hard to get through of it, but live still going on, we need to treat someone around us even better. Appreciate what we've gain!
Never forget why you started, and your mission can be accomplished.

=================================
--------------------------------------------------
1) Go on a trip / Take a trip
Go on a tripもTake a tripも意味は同じで、特にニュアンスの違いはありません。
✔「〇〇へ旅行する」→「Go on a trip to _____ / Take a trip to _____」。
✔「出張に行く」は「Go on a business trip」。「Take a business trip」とも言えるが、Go onの方が自然な響きがある。
<例文>
I'm going on a trip to Greece next week.
My sister took a trip to Vancouver last month.
When are you going on your business trip?
--------------------------------------------------
2) Make a trip
Go on a trip/Take a tripは一般的な旅行の意味として使われるのに対し、Make a tripは何かしらの目的をこなすために行く旅行というニュアンスが含まれます。例えば、「九谷焼を買いに石川県へ行きました」と言いたい場合、「I made a trip to Ishikawa to buy Kutani ware.」
とお願いする際、「Can you make a trip to the pharmacy and buy some cold medicine?」
<例文>
You guys are moving to Tokyo? I will definitely make a trip to Japan to see you guys.
I'm going to make a trip to the convenience store. Do you need anything?
Boston is having a huge job fair next month. We have to make a trip out there.

{Book Giveaway} "A book is a magical thing that lets you travel to far-away places without ever leaving your chair."
Now that we can't go overseas, that does not mean we stop exploring. To us, one of the best ways to learn and see more of the world is through reading. I had the chance to visit Tokyo on my company incentive trip (that was more than 13 years ago before I switched to being a stay-home mum) before the kids came along and up till now, it is still one of my favourite cities and I earnestly hope to bring the family there someday.
Written by our well-loved local author Emily Lim, Marky Polo in Tokyo tells the tale of a pangolin who is travelling overseas for the first time. At the airport, his luggage was taken up by another traveller and in order to retrieve it, he and his cousin had to pass through many famous places in Tokyo.
They include the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Skytree, streets of Harajuku, Shibuya crossing and the Samurai Museum. It is a colourful and interesting way to let the kids learn more about these famous attractions and there are even fun facts about animals native to Japan, for instance the amami rabbit, red-crowned crane and Akita-inu.
The book also lets readers have an Augmented Reality experience simply by downloading an app and scanning the pangolin icon when it appears on the page. We can't wait to see where Marky will go next on his exciting travels!
Giveaway! I am giving away TWO copies of this educational, enriching and beautifully illustrated book to you. To join,
