From the data sales business

And Invest a little in the present.
Every time.
I never said I was good.
I know what I can do every time.
Not because I'm cool at all

這段時間面試了10幾家公司以來，個人覺得最不尊重面試者的公司，沒有之一
不過問題並不是在面試過程中，或是考官身上
而是後續理應負責面試者招募相關事務的HR
從104上面得知HR聯絡信箱後，直接寄信過去應徵，一開始沒有任何回應
兩個星期後突然一封面試邀請，讓我喜出望外，想說既然機會來了就好好把握
而且Requirements 跟自己的所學和skills算是滿吻合的 (背景:112電碩、研究:網路相關
)
殊不知卻是噩夢的開端
[面試過程]
風塵僕僕地從台中搭車北上，花了一整個早上約莫四個小時
終於抵達藍線尾端的南港軟體園區
進了面試會議室，先寫了張C code相關的考試題目後
第一位面試官
主要負責Switch上網路安全相關應用開發 本來是要先檢討C code考卷
結果發現我雖然寫了滿滿一張，但誤會題目意思寫成另外一種
因此只有先就正確的題目意思，口頭討論我的想法和解法
接著便是網路相關的各種問題，首先問了OSI Layers各層主要在幹嘛
因為大學、研究所都修過電腦網路相關課程，對於這塊也挺有興趣
對於computer networks各層的protocols都還算熟悉
詳細敘述完各層的functionality並簡述各層最主要的protocol後
考官說: 恩，敘述的挺不錯的
然後便開始詢問各層的細節像是CIDR、netmask 計算、 TCP/UDP、3-Way Handshaking
其中有問到比較深入的像是，HTTP 1.3 protocol
因為書上(A top down approach)印象中沒有著墨太多
回答:目前大部分所學來自教科書上
個別protocol的進展和details書上沒有提到太深入，
除非是剛好自己論文有用到的protocol(like: RTP、IGMP)
我才有特別去深究他各個版本演進差異和RFC細節
而敘述部分protocol時，像是DNS實際的整體大架構
架構中各層的功用還有本身protocol的一些進階應用
似乎有讓考官認同，說我講述的挺詳細的
之後因為時間已經到了，便簡短的介紹部門工作內容後，就換到下一位了
這次面試，每位考官能面試的時間控管挺嚴格的，約莫只有40mins
不確定事不是每個人都一樣
第二位學長考官，主要負責Load Balance相關
問了一題書上的經典情境題，如果使用者在網址列輸入一串網址，
發出一個HTTP Request後，整個網路的行為會是如何
便從最一開始的DHCP -> DNS -> ARP -> RIP/OSPF -> TCP
每個protocol中的行爲細節，也會深入詢問更多細節和名詞看看懂的什麼程度到哪
第三位 台北辦公室經理
主要問了三題邏輯推理題，第一題是經典的找出不同重量的球
第二題則是數學邏輯計算，第三題是固定大小的沙漏，計算特定時間
雖然先前不知道會考這類型的問題，但剛好這幾題，都有在時間內解出來
全部一一正確解完後莫名覺得信心大增XD
最後問了滿多公司相關的資訊，像是文化風氣、工時、可能的工作內容、職涯發展等等
最後三關都結束後，因為一開始的程式考題誤會題目意思
面試官給了我一次補救的機會，重寫了兩題C code
其中一題Remove Duplicates from the linked list，linked list算熟悉
大致上應該寫得還算完整，最後離開前
HR說了最慢"下星期三"會通知我結果
(這時間我記得非常清楚，畢竟這對面試者而言很重要)
並要我先想一下期望的年薪，終於在約莫七點的時候結束面試，離開了南港
[後續過程]
等了約莫一個禮拜後，到了HR(W小姐)約定通知的日期(下星期三)
但HR沒有任何的通知，因為當時手邊有幾份offer的回覆期限快到了
因此希望這邊能趕快有結果，於是在晚上寄了封信過去講述我目前的狀況
(有其他offer需要回覆意願)，並詢問後續結果，又等待了2~3天，依然沒有任何回應
便直接撥電話過去詢問，終於聯絡到人了
電話中HR說: 因為要二面的美國老闆那邊最近很忙
她會趕快幫我喬好面試的時間，然後下禮拜三她會再回覆我結果
沒錯！又是"下星期三"，我便在行事曆上標注了這天
過了兩個星期，到了HR當初約定回覆的日期，依然又沒有任何回應，先寄了封信過去
一樣沒有回信，過了一兩天後，只好又直接打了電話過去
HR回應:會再趕快幫我問問美國那邊可以的面試時間
又說下禮拜的同一時間(星期三)會回覆我......
當時因為覺得自己在一面的表現還算不差，二面要英文對答面試應該也還行
加上自己對於這份職缺真的也滿有興趣，既然HR還在幫忙約二面時間
於是便先拒絕了當時手邊的幾個offer，決定繼續等待二面
三個禮拜多後，再度到了HR說會回覆我的日期沒有任何回應
當時想想覺得有點奇怪，一開始回應說美國那邊很忙
但會忙到整整三個禮拜沒辦法抽出1~2個小時面試應徵者？
寄信到HR信箱也完全不會回信或是回電，於是這次我決定寄信到公司的官方信箱
想說這官方信箱或許會有不同人看到？或許有其他人會看到就不得不回信給我？
結果，這次剛寄完信，竟然才過了兩個小時，就馬上收到回信
完全不同於先前狀況(寄了信一個禮拜都沒回)
打開信件後，竟然是封罐頭感謝信！
這我真的完全不懂了，等了三個禮拜多
HR電話中說在問美國那邊可以面試的時間(不是在約時間嗎？)
並且自認一面的過程(如上述)應該不算太差，怎會直接被拒絕
而且如果真覺得一面表現不行，為何要拖我拖了三個星期多
於是我打了電話過去，想問問看原因是為何？是哪部分的表現不如他們要求？
電話一接起來
我: 請問W小姐在嗎？
W小姐: 你哪位？
我：我是先前的應徵者XXX
W小姐: W現在不在辦公室
我：喔......
我腦中突然一片空白，理智斷線
接電話的明明就是你，現在竟然連回應面試者都不願意了，直接假裝不在？
或許HR只是想要找人做KPI吧，但如果找人做KPI我想也至少有點職業道德吧
面試者沒有任何交通補助，交通時間超過八個小時
花了一整天的時間交通面試幫你做KPI
如果真的只是想做個KPI，為何還要拖得這麼久
嚴重影響到面試者在offer和其他面試上的規劃
縱使已經在信中、在電話中講過了，反正不關你的事？
並且
1. 答應要回覆面試者的日期，從來沒有主動回應過
2. 不主動回應面試者，面試者寄信詢問，也從不回信
3. 最後竟然直接拒絕和面試者溝通，直接裝做人不在，即使接電話的就是你本人！
原來HR這麼好當，只要排個面試，之後所有的事情都不用管了
不用回信、不用回應、假裝不在
在罐頭感謝信中卻還寫道
”I am happy to answer your questions if you would like any specific feedback
about your application or interviews. “
做人真的有需要做到這麼表面？這麼虛偽？
縱使在台灣嚴重的資方勞方不平等
但我始終還是認為面試是段互相的過程
互相了解 互相尊重 互相溝通

喬到最後卻莫名直接發卡 才會不解
要檢討的還是受害者 就是你自己穿著太暴露 才會被騷擾 你應該全身包緊做好萬全準備
PO這篇除了揭露 也希望面試者不要直覺覺得HR答應的事情不算數 都是合理的 爭取自己
應有的權益 抵制這樣的作為 才有機會改善這種不合理不平等的現況

之後當然我也繼續面了不少家 拿到offer 但我已經說明過了
重點完全不在我其他家的offer 我怎樣決定當然是我自己負責
而是在HR的失信和應對面試人方式上的問題
希望透過揭露這些能稍稍改變這樣的生態

雖然可能得到的也只會是罐頭理由 但至少這是對應徵者應有的尊重吧
況且HR如不需處理面試者各項後續事務 只需負責安排面試 這樣人人都可以當HR了吧
btw, 我後續面過的大公司也不少 (e.g.大Ｍ)的HR們 效率和態度就數一數二的好
