Just wanted to share today, I'd love for you to look at the mirror and just appreciate how you were made! This is me with no makeup, some acne scars and laughter lines. I enjoy wearing make up from time to time and having lashes on but I am also grateful for the face God's created for me naturally.

All my ladies - and even guys - but especially ladies in an age where we have been told to look a certain way and some even think you need to have make up before going out to feel "decent". Can I tell you, you are damn beautiful just the way you are. Makeup enhances but you are already gorgeous as is, please remember that. Big hugs! 😘

10 years ago, I was unhappy.
And no, it’s not just about the looks.

I had an acne breakout so bad I had to seek help from a dermatologist. I hated my thick lips so much,I purse my lips together all the time walking around my high school. I was chubby and lack of self-confidence, I consciously tilt my head down all the time. I have all these amazing ideas and creativity but I didn’t know how to express it. In the end, I found out some seniors was calling me weird and was bad mouthing me behind my back. I cried alone at night, feeling like life is going to go on like this forever.

Then I decided to grow up. I surround myself with people with positive mindset. I learned how to wear make up and dress well. I talk to people out of my usual social circle, and from there I got inspired by their crazy confidence and the way they carry themselves. I do things out of my comfort zone, work all sorts of jobs, constantly pushing myself to try something new at every new phase. I try my best to eat well and work out, as I realised a healthy figure is not for you to show off, but for you to train up your self-discipline.

To be honest, I am still battling some inner struggles of my own, but who doesn’t? I try my best to spread positive influence to the people around me, because I know how bad it felt to be going through the tough times. I kept reminding myself, to be someone the me from 10 years ago, would want to become. It’s always about overcoming the old you, and never about being better than someone else. 😁

I’m happy from the growth I’ve gained over this decade, not solely in terms of appearance, but my mental health and mindset. 🙂💪🏻
Let’s strive for another decade of growth and positivity!

Let me share you a little something from my heart...
I am not the best writer I know, so I will try not to make it long :D

Creating this video has been a rather bittersweet feeling...
Having to bare my face in front of the camera and doing a very natural makeup look.
I have always went out with rather thicker makeup on because of my past skin condition.
But upon creating this video, I tried to take a leap of faith and just bare myself... and be me.
The way I am, now.

Yes it doesn't seem like a lot here, in this video..
However,

I grew up with moderate to severe acne during my early teenage years all over my face, neck, chest, shoulder and my whole back. I got bullied for it. My classmates called me acne monster..
It was so bad.. to a point I hated myself.
I hated everything I see in the mirror.
I can never go out anywhere or make eye contact wit anyone.
It was horrendous, but for almost 10 years..I fought.

I fought so hard to a point sometime I feel the world is unfair and I almost gave up about how I look.


Now, the confidence you see in this video does not come by just like that. It is years of hardwork of tears, sweat and blood.
I have learnt it the hard way that.. at the end of the day, beauty is always a choice.
It is a constant fight, be it inside or outside. You can never take it for granted.

And through this video, I want all of you ladies out there to always choose positivity when it comes to yourself
because it is ALWAYS worth it.
Looking back, I've never regret I have to go through what I went through.

The world has put up such an inhuman standard of beauty, to a point people forget...
that beauty is everywhere... it lies on the eyes of the beholder.
It is never specific, it is never finite.

Insecurity is permanent, we all know.
It's the darkest monster and enemy amongst all of us, especially ladies.
But, let's fight that together as women.
Don't ever give up on yourself, because nothing worth fighting for ever comes easy.
