兩年前到馬來西亞比賽認識了來自關島的Billy Navarrete,
他用心拍攝這部有趣的影片替自己宣傳,
覺得自己也應該像國外的運動員一樣幫自己宣傳才是,
希望他能在American ninja warrior season 8 中有傑出的表現!
"Obstacles are put in your way to see if what you want is worth fighting for."
When I was a kid, I was a victim of bullying. I was a sickly young boy with a condition called Anemia - a condition that develops when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin. I used to pee out blood and bruise real easily. People thought it was fun to make me bruise fast, which I thought was "cool" at the time, since it made them happy. I would come home with so many bruises and I would just tell my parents they came from the playground. I didn't fully understand that it needed to stop. Other kids kept me isolated and I would be picked last in every game. I'd also be pushed around in hallways and even got my face smashed into the playground fence. I never told my teacher, because they placed fear in me that they'd hurt me even more. It was quite brutal at school to the point where I didn't want to go anymore, but I had to. Eventually, my bullies found someone else to pick on and I was finally spared. I hated bullies. If I had the physical strength and capabilities back then, I would've tried to protect the other kids. Sadly, there wasn't much that I could do. & At home, I was quite sheltered. I stayed indoors and didn't have friends to play with. In the year 2000, my family and I moved to Yigo, where I grew more physically capable as I got into middle school and highschool. I got into basketball, skateboarding, raving/fire dancing, bboying, martial arts, and most especially, parkour/freerunning.
All of these positive outlets helped me develop the strength I needed to never feel inferior again. Nobody loves the feeling of being inferior. So I vowed to become a teacher for many reasons, but one of them was to combat bullies. I've made a promise to myself to always be a positive role model to the younger generation with high hopes that they'd make their dreams come true too, despite all the mental or physical obstacles they face.
Movement has been my life story. Without it, I wouldn't survive. Being a ninja warrior is the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I hope that my life story inspires others to dream the impossible and then create beyond their comfort zones. Obstacles are opportunities. They mold your character. Always persevere, remain humble, and stay positive. Billyve in yourself, knowing that if I can make my dreams come true, then so can you!
Tonight I'll be competing on American Ninja Warrior Season 8 inside Universal Studios California in Los Angeles, California!
