Born in north of France, worked in Japan and lived for decades in Marrakech, city of his inspirations and obsessions. Monsieur Lutens tell stories through his photography and artistic directing work, and he also entices his vision of beauty by creating a poetic perfume and makeup collection.

It may seem diverse, but my work has never been segmented. What I do in Education & Community work is anchored in the conviction that creative expression unlocks our potential as people, and that the Arts have relevance far beyond its entertainment value.

If you look at the very beginnings of the Arts, it both empowers the individual, as well as the communal.

I hope that as I choose artistic projects of relevance— both in theme and purpose— the message of creative and social empowerment becomes loud and clear.

Thank you, Marie Claire. I am grateful that people care to hear the story of the headstrong 10-year old who— nearly three decades later— still persists in working hard as an artist, and now hopes to pave the way for others to forge the life and community they wish.

The visual symbolism of neon has long been a significant part of Hong Kong's culture. By transforming everyday objects from the streets into a neon aesthetic, the work highlights the casual and overlooked side of the vibrant lifestyle within the district of Soho where it is full of energy and comes to life at night. The neon glow gives off a unique iconic ambiance to its surroundings which enhances its chic, urban, and stylish attraction. Scaled to life size, they also have their own presence and element of interaction. Like traditional neon signs, the 'Artlane' sign serves to name the place where it will become the heart of the area and an artistic Soho of its own...

這件有別於傳統水墨的作品是用雲肌麻紙所畫，它屬於厚實而強韌的紙性，當時選用的動機，最主要是與自己慣用的銀潛紙做比較，藉由紙性的差異，來尋找一些可能忽略的使用技巧，也避免一種紙張過於熟悉而缺乏奮戰的精神。

或許是基於因為大學時期的使用經驗，有自信可以完全掌握此紙性，並依照個人創作的需求，完全駕馭，但整個過程卻是令人喪氣，在一年的時間內幾度是以逃避的心態不願意去面對。

紙厚在使用上，最大的難度是調出的色調，看似深黑，但畫下去等乾後，竟是薄色罩染的感覺，難以精準掌握下筆的成效，也就勢必要不斷積累數次，且顏料的使用量也要增加，顏料顆粒也不能過細，才能達到期望的效果，這也就是為何作畫前要先塗抹膠礬水的原因。

盡最大的氣力不斷想去克服，也讓作品有了以往不同的感覺，難以割捨，不願意就此停筆，每次翻開重新觀看，總覺尚有可為之處，也就在這樣拉扯之間，最終完成。

起初創作時，是以黑白為主調，而後才塗上其他顏色，同樣的，瀑布是最後才加上的元素，因為知道整片岩壁若無瀑布的水白呼應，其實描繪的在細，層次多麼豐富，都難以吸引目光，這也是最近自我創作深刻體認到的事情，好的構圖，好的布局，作品完成的可能性就自然提高。

著作「墨色的真相」與「台灣寺廟龍柱造型之研究」獲國立編譯館出版刊行。
