Many have been requesting me to share more about my life in the UK, so I took the opportunity to share my humble opinion and experience with Puan Syahidatul Akmal Dunya in her latest article. As we know, communication between parents and teachers is very important. Being a parent myself, I totally understand that if possible, we want to know every single thing that our children do at school on a daily basis. But that doesn’t mean that we can cross the boundaries and disturb the teachers during their working hours or even worse, after their working hours. We always need to remind ourselves that teachers are human beings too! They also have their own private life and things that they have to do other than teaching.
So that’s why, from my humble point of view, I strongly disagree with the use of Whatsapp as a medium of communication between parents and teachers. Hence, I think that schools need to come up with a better medium of communication to protect the teachers’ privacy, but at the same time, keep the parents updated about their children.
