I wasn’t going to post these photos because the icing hadn’t come out the way I wanted to and the cake was obviously too moist. But I thought it was important to show that my food experiments don’t always go to plan and it usually takes me a couple times to get a recipe right. I’m not much of a baker because 1) I like savoury food more than I like sweet and 2) I’ve always preferred cooking because I get to taste and make changes along the way. I feel more nervous experimenting with baking because I won’t know how it tastes until after it’s out of the oven! I need to constantly remind myself that instead of being scared of another failed recipe, it’s okay to make mistakes as it’s the only way to learn!
