Những địa phương ở vùng sâu, vùng xa sát biên giới phía Bắc là nơi còn phải chịu sự khắc nghiệt của khí hậu hơn dưới đồng bằng rất nhiều vì đó là khu vực hứng chịu băng giá, sương muối… Năm nào bà con ở đó cũng bị thiệt hại lớn về hoa màu, gia súc dẫn đến ảnh hưởng trong việc mưu sinh. Việc thiếu thốn từ lương thực, vật nuôi, hạt giống đến đồ giữ ấm, sách vở cho trẻ em đã làm cho cuộc sống của bà con đã vất vả nay lại càng khó khăn hơn. Tết, là thời điểm mà mọi người sẽ nhớ ngay đến những niềm hạnh phúc bên gia đình người thân, nhớ đến bánh chưng, bánh mứt và những bao lì xì đỏ thẫm... thế nhưng Tết, đối với bà con trở thành nỗi buồn lo khó gọi tên. Chính vì thế, nhân dịp xuân về, Quân xin được phép chia sẻ về dự định: Một chuyến đi từ thiện trong khuôn khổ quỹ từ thiện “Tự tâm chia sẻ từ tâm” đến huyện Mèo Vạc, Hà Giang, với mong muốn được mang đến chút hơi ấm, tình thương và những món quà hảo tâm cho bà con cũng như các em nhỏ có hoàn cảnh vô cùng khó khăn tại đó, như một sự chia sẻ nho nhỏ vào dịp Tết đến, Xuân về.Chuyến đi này mang tên gọi: “Tết Từ Tâm - Tết ấm trong tim”. Năm 2020, Quân đã có nhiều trải nghiệm, những bài học cho mình khi may mắn được sự tin tưởng ủng hộ từ các mạnh thường quân, bạn bè và fandom LighterStar, để cùng nhau làm nên những điều ý nghĩa qua các chương trình từ thiện, góp phần giúp bà con vùng hạn mặn, chống dịch Covid, thiên tai... Tổng số tiền quỹ “Tự tâm chia sẻ từ tâm” quyên góp được từ fandom LighterStar và các mạnh thường quân trong năm 2020 lên tới 1.533.776.717 đồng. Những hành trình thiện nguyện trong năm vừa qua làm Quân cảm nhận sâu sắc rằng chưa bao giờ mình sống xứng đáng như thế, cuộc đời mình lại có thể đóng góp cho những điều tốt đẹp đến thế. Miền Bắc đang trong những ngày lạnh giá cực điểm. Những địa phương ở vùng sâu, vùng xa sát biên giới phía Bắc là nơi còn phải chịu sự khắc nghiệt của khí hậu hơn dưới đồng bằng rất nhiều vì đó là khu vực hứng chịu băng giá, sương muối… Năm nào bà con ở đó cũng bị thiệt hại lớn về hoa màu, gia súc dẫn đến ảnh hưởng trong việc mưu sinh. Việc thiếu thốn từ lương thực, vật nuôi, hạt giống đến đồ giữ ấm, sách vở cho trẻ em đã làm cho cuộc sống của bà con đã vất vả nay lại càng khó khăn hơn. Tết, là thời điểm mà mọi người sẽ nhớ ngay đến những niềm hạnh phúc bên gia đình người thân, nhớ đến bánh chưng, bánh mứt và những bao lì xì đỏ thẫm... thế nhưng Tết, đối với bà con trở thành nỗi buồn lo khó gọi tên. Chính vì thế, nhân dịp xuân về, Quân xin được phép chia sẻ về dự định: Một chuyến đi từ thiện trong khuôn khổ quỹ từ thiện “Tự tâm chia sẻ từ tâm” đến huyện Mèo Vạc, Hà Giang, với mong muốn được mang đến chút hơi ấm, tình thương và những món quà hảo tâm cho bà con cũng như các em nhỏ có hoàn cảnh vô cùng khó khăn tại đó, như một sự chia sẻ nho nhỏ vào dịp Tết đến, Xuân về.

Chuyến đi này mang tên gọi: “Tết Từ Tâm - Tết ấm trong tim”. Đó là lời nhắn gửi thành tâm, là nguyện vọng của Quân, mong cho mọi người ở nơi vùng cao, sát biên giới, có thể có một cái Tết đầm ấm, sum vầy, bớt đi một phần nỗi lo âu về màn sương lạnh buốt, cơm áo gạo tiền.

Chương trình “Tết Từ Tâm - Tết ấm trong tim” có 3 mục tiêu chính:

- Giúp đỡ các hoàn cảnh khó khăn bằng những khoản hỗ trợ cần thiết
- Giúp đỡ về giáo dục cho trẻ em: góp sách cho thư viện, trao tặng đồ dùng học tập
- Đến thăm hỏi, ủng hộ, động viên các chiến sĩ biên phòng, hỗ trợ một số đồ dùng thiết yếu.

Trong suốt quá trình quỹ “Tự tâm chia sẻ Từ tâm” hoạt động, Quân luôn tin tưởng: từ thiện là một hành trình lâu dài và luôn cần sự tiếp sức, động viên quý giá của mọi người. Quân tin rằng, chỉ cần có lòng thành, một ý nghĩ tốt đẹp, một mong muốn được sẻ chia, thì chúng ta sẽ có thể cùng nhau làm nên những điều có sức ảnh hưởng tích cực đến các mảnh đời còn thiếu một chút may mắn.

Extensive, intensive, or narrow reading? What is skimming and scanning?

英語學習者經常被要求在課堂上以多種方式閱讀。有些學習者被要求開口朗誦，讀出每個單詞。有些學習者則默念於心以理解文本。但默讀時，學習者該略讀其要義還是掃讀關鍵細節？抑或專注於語言功能還是練習閱讀策略？

English learners are often asked to read in diverse ways in the classroom. Some are asked to read orally and sound out each word. Others are told to read silently for comprehension. However, when reading silently, should learners skim for essential meanings or scan for key details? Or should they focus on linguistic features and practice reading strategies?

Oral Reading

Before we can address these questions and find a suitable reading approach, let’s examine what the different reading types are.

Oral reading involves the teacher or students reading aloud and helps students to develop prosody, improving their intonation, tone, stress, and rhythm. Silent reading consists of intensive, extensive, and narrow reading, amongst others.

Intensive Reading

Intensive reading refers to reading in detail with specific learning aims and tasks. It is typically classroom-based, and students focus on features such as grammar and discourse markers. Students also identify key vocabulary, and text is read carefully and repeatedly with instructor input. The aim is to build language knowledge and understanding of literal meaning, implications, and rhetorical relationships. The materials used are usually shorter texts of 500 words or less at a time because it might be too difficult to focus on so many details with longer texts.

Narrow Reading

窄式閱讀可被視為一種特殊的精讀，它是基於「可理解輸入」此一概念，意即學生閱讀略高於自身語言能力的材料。如此一來，在老師的協助下，學生得以輕鬆地專注於新的語言特徵。在練習窄式閱讀時，教師通常會找同一作者或同一主題的文章。因此，關鍵詞彙與文法結構會重複出現，學生便有更多機會在稍異的文本中看到這些特徵。這是一種非常成功的方法，因為它可以增進學生對文本的理解。

Narrow reading can be classified as a specific type of intensive reading. It is based on the concept of comprehensible input, in which students read materials slightly above their current linguistic abilities. In this way, students can easily focus on new language features with the aid of their teacher. When practicing narrow reading, teachers can find texts by the same author or the same topic. Thus, key vocabulary and grammatical structures repeat themselves, and students get many opportunities to see these features in slightly different contexts. It is a highly successful method because the comprehension of the text is enhanced due to learner familiarity with the author and subject matter.

Extensive Reading, Scanning & Skimming

On the other hand, extensive reading involves learners reading longer texts and even complete novels for enjoyment, and it aids learners in developing general reading skills. Extensive reading is usually done outside the classroom because teachers might feel it is not an effective use of class time, or are just uncomfortable with the extended silence.

Scanning and skimming are two skills commonly used in extensive reading. Readers can scan for key details or skim for essential meaning. Reading quickly with skimming and scanning can give readers a global or general understanding of the materials. This does not mean students cannot skim or scan when reading intensively, but typically, intensive reading focuses on learning and understanding linguistic features. Extensive reading is stressed in contemporary education policies, as learners are expected to be autonomous and read outside of class. At its core, extensive reading encourages language learners to read what they like!

As for narrow reading, you can find articles by the same author on the same topic and focus on language features. Some might even want to practice oral reading to improve prosody or repeated reading to increase fluency.

How does Your #Vitameal Donation Impact #Malawi kids? 🧒🏻🧒🏽🧒🏿🧒🏿🧒

Each Vitameal is a complete meal with 25 Vitamins & Minerals, all vital for young growing children's #minds and #body.

The Vitameals are distributed monthly to villages throughout Malawi, such as #Katalima, where 500+ children, some of them walked 2km here, to receive their Vitameals once a month.❤️

The Vitameals are also distributed in 1368 CBCC (Charity Based Child Care Centres) for kindergarten age kids. So the kids are encourage to attend school to get their food. Education is the hope to break the poverty cycle. 😍 We do not just simply give food, the local community is also require to work for the food by building the preschools for kids.
The CBCCs can sustain because they have continuous donations of Vitameals to feed the children!! 💕 The kids actually eating and enjoying your Vitameal! They scrape till the last bit! 😋

The locals can see how Vitameal tremendously changed the kids' health, growth and learning ability. So they regarded Vitameals allocation as something precious and have a special place to store and keep track of it. Even a system of cooking, distributing, kids wash hands before eating etc. 😃

Because of your Vitameals contributions, many more things happened. Adults can tend to their work because these younger kids are in the centre. They grow vegetables in the CBCC taught by Nu Skin agriculture school SAFI. Learn how SAFI helps these families to stand on their own two feet too!💪
