Previously while browsing on the NSA website, my mum found a short course for Chinese Ink Painting which she’s keen about! 😍
During the course, she learned about the different types of chinese calligraphy equipment, types of calligraphy drawings, basic calligraphy strokes, how to properly hold a brush, and even learned how to draw a food item from our daily lives - mushrooms! 🍄
The later lessons will get more challenging once the students get used to calligraphy 💪🏻
My mum also excitedly came home with a set of calligraphy materials and we practiced at home together.
Mr Lim (the instructor) was very patient and meticulous in his guiding, and the course notes were very well done as well!
Chinese Ink Painting is an art form that requires patience, creativity and skill, and is a great new hobby my mum can indulge in! And I can kaypoh and learn from her too 😝
The #NSA website (https://www.nsa.org.sg/) has a wide range of other SUBSIDISED courses which provides a good opportunity for our parents and grandparents (aged 50 & above) to pick up new skills and discover new interests!👍🏻
