We are proudly spreading The Arts of Tit Tar to Macau, China. Macau also best known globally as the 'Vegas of China', the Macau Special Administrative Region is indeed a hub of gambling and glitz. But the city is so much more than that. A Portuguese colony for more than 300 years, it is a city of blended cultures. Ancient Chinese temples sit on streets paved with traditional Portuguese tiles. The sound of Cantonese fills the air on streets with Portuguese names. You can eat Chinese congee for breakfast, enjoy a Portuguese lunch of caldo verde soup and bacalhau (cod) fritters, and dine on hybrid Macanese fare such as minchi (ground beef or pork, often served over rice).

These days thick Chinese Biang Biang noodles have taken the World stage by storm like a good old Pappardelle pasta, but this noodle can be confusing to explain because it is found in 陝西省 (Shaanxi Province) & 西安市 (Xi'An City) within it, but also right next door at 山西省 (Shanxi Province). Notice how Shaanxi & Shanxi are spelt almost similar, but some argue the English phonetics are spelt in swapped order.

To make things more complicated, 'Biang Biang' actually describes the 'bang' sound whilst thumping the thick noodles dough on the board, whereas more official names 油潑 (You Po) describes the mixing dry Chili Oil sauce, vs 扯麵 (Che Mian) which highlights the Hand Pulled action with slightly center incision-dented noodles, which I have learned to make before. They all mean almost the same as overlapping subsets, coming from different directions of descriptive approaches.. But a small danger is reminded to notice their micro differences, as a 扯麵 Chemian served inside a soup is not registerable as a 油潑 Youpo mixed noodles. A good analogy is in Japan, a Mazesoba, Tsukemen or certain Poultry Sobas or Chuka Soba are considered a 'Ramen' genre but you can't say the reverse is necessarily the same.. Some Sobas in Japan aren't even a Buckwheat Soba, therefore belong in the Ramen camp, which also has Chinese 拉麵 history !

So anyway. This World, China or Hong Kong is a mess right now. But if we all step back to contemplate, it's always full of misunderstandings or you're arguing with a Nose vs your Mouth. But at the end of the Day... Escalating Violence for humans doesn't solve anything when u are all actually related. Everyone responsible, carrying power should at least try develop a truce non-fighting period 1st for proper negotiations. Otherwise we will all be our own losers when everyone continues to argue whilst defining between a Donkey, a Mule or just being an Ass 🎅🏻.. 佛手孖寶紓緩腸胃不適
有些食物雖然名字相似，但仔細研究原來大不同！以佛手和佛手瓜為例，佛手是芸香科柑橘屬植物，乾品是常用中藥。佛手瓜是葫蘆科佛手瓜屬植物，外形一個以有手指的手掌，另一個則似兩手合掌，但兩者都有效紓緩腸胃不適症狀。如果最近因壓力影響，而經常覺得消化不良、胸脅脹痛、胃脹等，不妨適量進食佛手與佛手瓜，調理一下身體。

佛手 — 又名佛手柑，性溫味辛苦酸，外形如佛手姿態而得名。果實成熟前是綠色表皮，成熟後轉變成金黄色。製成乾品則是常用中藥，能疏肝理氣，養胃止痛 。適合因為壓力而引起的胃脹不適症狀。佛手亦是精油熱門之選，清新的橘子香可放鬆身心，紓緩勞累、思慮過多的症狀。由於屬性偏溫，陰虛內熱、沒有氣滯及體質虛弱者，不宜進食以免耗氣。

佛手瓜 — 性平味甘，呈梨形，瓜上明顯有五條縱溝，所以又名合掌瓜。具健脾開胃、清肺化痰之功效，適合脾胃欠佳、胃口不佳者食用。佛手瓜涼拌、炒菜都可以，而廣東人最常見用來煲湯，味道清甜，亦適合高血壓、糖尿病、肥胖症、脂肪肝者食用。

Two treasures to relieve abdominal discomfort

Some ingredients have similar names in Chinese but are totally different. Like Buddha's hand citron and chayote, Buddha’s hand citron is plant of rutaceae and citrus, and looks like a hand with fingers, the dried version is used as Chinese medicine. Chayote is the plant of curcubitaceae and sechium, and looks like folded palms. They both can relieve abdominal discomfort symptoms. If you are under stress and have indigestion, chest pain or stomach bloating, you can appropriately consume both of them to nourish your body.

Buddha’s hand citron- also know as bergamot, warm in nature, tastes bitter and sour. It is named due to it looking like the Buddha hands. The fruit has green skin before maturing, it turns to golden colour after it ripens. The dried one is used as Chinese medicine. It can relieve depression and nourish qi, as well as nourish stomach and relieve pain. It is suitable for abdominal discomfort symptoms caused by stress. Buddha’s hand citron is also a hot choice for essential oil. The fresh citron smell can calm the mind and body. It can relieve symptoms like fatigue and excessive thinking. As it is warm in nature, those with yin deficiency and heat, asthenic body type should not have it to avoid consuming qi.

Chayote- mild in nature and sweet with a pear shape. You can visibly see 5 grooves on the outside. It can strengthen the spleen and stimulate appetite, clear lungs to relieve phlegm. Suitable for those with weakened spleen and stomach and poor appetite. There are many ways to cook it- served as cold side dish or stir fried. Cantonese use it in soup as it is sweet and suitable for those with high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and fatty liver.
