Recently revisited this old demo of an English song I wrote called, "Dry Eyes". Just for fun, I made a simple lyric video to the song. I remember when I wrote this, it was during a really dark period in life where things were really starting to spin outta control, and I was contantly losing my battles with a certain vice. Truly only by the grace of God was I able to survive and walk out of that darkness, and for that I am grateful. Please feel free to take a listen if you like.
Oh btw, I know I can't sing. That's why I always brought in other people to sing choruses and stuff. But for this one, I sang all the choruses myself. Please be gentle. 😅
最近找到很久以前的一首英文歌demo叫做「Dry Eyes不哭的雙眼」，最近有空就隨便做了一支純歌詞的MV。我還記得當時寫這首歌的我跟現在的我差很多，那時候我的狀況不是很好。Thank God 我能夠走出那時候的低潮期！喔，對了，這首歌裡是我自己唱副歌的，所以請別太嚴格對待！我知道我不是很會唱歌的！😅

38年前風靡全球的抒情傑作Every Breath You Take, 想來是The Police最廣為人知的作品, 不落俗套的編曲手法, 默契十足的樂器配置, 透過Sting真情而低沉的聲線, 曲中流瀉的惆悵彷彿就是伸手可及.
可是這麼久以來, 大家都完全誤解了歌曲要表達的意境, 對這首可能是史上最被逆向解讀的作品, 原創作的Sting是這樣說的:

這完全不是對戀人一顰一笑都捨不得錯失的關注, Sting創作的原型是老大哥(Big Brother)險惡的監看與控制啊, 歌詞寫得再明白不過了, 尤其是最後反覆低吟的I'll be watching you, 才是歌曲要表達的核心. 了解真相後再重看那段原以為深情, 實則恐怖的寫照, 換個角度來臆度, 就一點也不浪漫了...
