EWG所根據的準則是：
1:不推薦噴劑，增加吸入呼吸道風險，美國FDA雖然沒有禁止販售，但是也表達對噴劑的疑慮
2:只強調高SPF值>50（UVB)，沒有兼顧考慮到UVA傷害的產品
3:含有Oxybenzone：由皮膚吸收，作用類似女性荷爾蒙，可以引起皮膚過敏反應／子宮內膜異位／ 出生體重過輕等健康的疑慮
4:含有Retinyl palmitate：有增皮膚癌的風險
