When I first started out on YouTube with my best friend, we created some characters because we were only a 2 people team. Peter Papadum was one of these characters and the storyline is that PP and JianHao have a long history of banter and putting each other in tough spots. Among other characters, Ridhwan also plays other characters like an awkward Chinese boy Ren Yi Xiang but I understand the difference. PP adopts caricature-like qualities that exploit racial stereotypes, while Ren Yi Xiang merely appears as a name. Furthermore, Chinese people in SG do not deal with the same oppression as other minority races. I’ve never meant to put a certain race under a bad light. After some reflection, I realized it was insensitive and we could have done it better. I will no longer have that character anymore.

I try my best to include as many races in my videos, among the characters, we have a Malay principal, a Chinese cleaner, an Indian teacher. I do not give actors roles based on their color of their skin. I give it to them based on their ability to portray a role. However, now, as I grow and learn more, I will be more sensitive to how I portray certain races, and I apologize for not understanding this implications of this and I will not make the same mistake again.

I realise now that to enact change to dismantle racism it has to begin at home, and with those who have a voice. As an influencer and content creator with a following, I have a responsibility to educate my young and impressionable audiences. To the Singaporean minorities I’ve hurt with any of my jokes, I apologize.

☘Tip 1: ghi âm
Khi luyện tập Speaking, mình thường có thói quen ghi âm lại những gì mình nói để check xem lỗi sai ở chỗ nào, vì trong quá trình nói chúng ta thường sẽ ko nhận ra lỗi sai, nên mọi thứ cần đc ghi âm lại. Bây giờ mình sẽ lấy vd nhé.

☘ Tip 3: IPA
Nếu như học tiếng Việt, bạn phải học dấu sắc, huyền, hỏi, ngã, nặng… Học tiếng Trung bạn phải học các thanh 1,2,3,4. Thì học tiếng Anh bạn cũng phải học bảng phiên âm IPA.
Bảng IPA bao gồm 44 âm chia thành 2 nhóm: Vowels (nguyên âm) và Consonants (phụ âm).
Nếu nắm rõ cách phát âm của 44 âm này thì mình đảm bảo, khi gặp 1 từ mới, bạn chỉ cần nhìn IPA, ko cần nghe ngta đọc mẫu, vẫn có thể đọc đúng.
Ví dụ: anemone là 1 từ mình mới học đc, IPA của nó là /əˈneməni/ → đọc thử → check phát âm mẫu → từ này nghĩa là hải quỳ.
À còn 1 lưu ý nữa khi học IPA đó là hãy chú ý đến 2 bộ phận: đó là lưỡi và cổ họng. Âm nào cần đưa lưỡi ra ngoài, âm nào cần cổ họng rung. Ví dụ: /p/ (pen) ; /dʒ/ (jump) ; ð (this)

☘ Tip 4: Shadowing
Shadowing là PP học phát âm bằng cách nghe - bắt chước lại.
Vd khi học từ vựng hoặc 1 câu nói nào đó,
bước 1: b nên nghe từ 5-7 lần
bước 2: lặp lại ít nhất 3 lần theo đúng ngữ điệu, luyến láy, nhấn nhá, ngắt câu…
bước 3: ghi âm lại
bước 4: so sánh và sửa

Tuy nhiên thì bước 3,4 ko bắt buộc nhé. Với pp này, b có thể áp dụng khi học từ điển qua Oxford, Cambridge, xem phim, Youtube hay nghe nhạc....

Quick test with 28mm f1.8 just wanted to see how it looks and on full frame and how well I could handheld this, but was quite cold and windy to do so.

Also tested with shooting with PP-Off with Creative style on Deep -3 contrast which seem to be a nice look in low light and as its less to no nois then compared to using a PP with Cine 2 or Cine 4. This footage is also ungraded direct out of the camera.

Have to say the bare camera with 28mm is really hard to handheld and really need monopod to make the shots more steady. But at f1.8 you can do a nice medium close up and still get a nice dof which is good to know as 28mm f3.5 kitlens most be quite in focus.
