Review for Nén Restaurant (English below)
Đây là nhà hàng em gái Helen mới mở. Viết review kiểu gì cho khỏi thiên vị đây?!
Sự thật là Helen rất hay được mời đi ăn thử menu cho các nhà hàng mới mở và đóng góp ý kiến. Chắc ai cũng tưởng nhà hàng này của em gái, kiểu gì Helen chả nhúng tay vào, không lên ý tưởng thì chí ít cũng tư vấn thực đơn. Tiên sư, thế mà đến tận lúc nó thông báo ngày khai trương lên Facebook, chờ mãi cũng ko thấy có 1 lời mời :(( Quá đáng! Lục tục vào web nó xem thử, thấy nó để giá set menu $32. Mình kiu chắc nhỏ này bị hoang tưởng roài. Ở Đà Nẵng ai bỏ ra 750k ăn 1 bữa tối?!
Sau 1 tuần chờ đợi mòn mỏi cuối cùng hén cũng mời tới ăn thử. Kết luận là, đó ko phải là 1 bữa tối, mà là 1 trải nghiệm ẩm thực Helen chưa từng có. Cũng đi ăn nhiều nhà hàng sang rồi, ngay cả trong resort 5 sao, nhưng mà thực sự đây là lần đầu Helen ăn kiểu này. Đó không phải chỉ là bữa ăn gồm các món được trình bày theo kiểu trừu tượng, mà khi thức ăn được dọn ra, thực khách không khỏi bất ngờ bối rối và khi nếm thử thì luôn tự hỏi, đầu bếp đã cho nguyên liệu gì vào đây và làm sao nó lại ra được như thế?! Mỗi phần ăn có chút xíu mà thử miếng nào là hương vị nổi trội miếng đó. Có những sự kết hợp hương vị có lẽ chưa thử qua bao giờ. Không gian thì dùng từ "sang chảnh" chắc cũng không đúng. Nó là kiểu sang trọng của Tây.
Đối với người ĐN thì H recommend menu New Vietnamese. Còn người nước ngoài hoặc khách du lịch đến ĐN lần đầu thì nên thử menu đặc trưng món miền Trung. Dù rất khắt khe nhưng cũng phải công nhận ngon.
Mẫu hình nhà hàng này cho món Việt chưa từng có ở Đà Nẵng (và cả ở VN) nên thực sự quá kén khách. Ở thị trường khó nhằn như ĐN (tiêu chuẩn là phải ngon-bổ-rẻ) cũng hơi lo lắng không biết có đủ khách để survive không. Dù sao cũng hi vọng người tiên phong sẽ là người thành công. Một ngày nào đó bạn không muốn đi vào con đường mòn và không ngại chi tiền cho 1 trải nghiệm ẩm thực chưa- từng- có thì hãy đến thử Nén.

Let me start off this review by saying that I am the only sister of the restaurant owner. So you'd certainly think that this review is going to be biased. But then read further...
As a recognizable food expert in Da Nang (and Vietnam as well), I am invited to many restaurants' food testings before they open to the public. As close as us sisters, you'd think that I must be one of the restaurant concept developers, or at least its menu consultant. But I was not. I was not even invited to their 1st opening day.
All what I know about the restaurant until the day it opens is what is published on its website. I was thinking, Summer must be crazy/ over-confident to set up such a price for her restaurant menu. Noone would be willing to pay that much for a dinner in Da Nang, even the rich, I mean the very rich.
One week after the 1st soft opening day, I am finally invited to come over and have dinner at her restaurant. And to my surprise, it is much more than just a dinner, it's an experience that I have never had before. I've been to quite a few high-end restaurants in many cities and 5-star resorts but this one is something totally different. The kind of fine dining that is still unknown to Da Nang's culinary scene. It's still a mystery to many, even to a foodie like myself.
That's what took Summer 2 years to work on in silence. She probably wanted to take me by surprise.
It's not just the same food you know in new presentations. Every dish served makes you wonder, what are actually in the ingredients and how it has been cooked. It shows in the concentrated flavor you get in every bite. Some flavor combinations you surely have never had before.
The video includes random dishes of the 2 menus we tried. (Each menu has 8 dishes in total). I would recommend the new Vietnamese menu to any Vietnamese and the refined traditional menu to foreigners. As a traditional food enthusiast and critics, I must confess that the food in the traditional menu is excellently refined.
As the restaurant concept is too new to Vietnamese, even to a hard-core foodie like myself, I am still a bit skeptical about the success of this restaurant model especially in Da Nang where consumer behaviors are heavily towards "delicious, good, and cheap".
But I will keep my finger crossed that Summer will prove me wrong as a passionate pioneer so that I will have more chance to try her many new "crazily good" creations.

My secret of six-packs shortcuts = There are no shortcuts to get visible six-packs!
Visible abs are not only made from thousands of sit-ups but thousands & thousands of additional calories expenditure!
You have to do resistance and cardio training to melt those fats and build lean muscle tissue to get those packs pop'ed!
The most important of getting visible abs is to watch what you put into your body, spending most of your time in kitchen cooking your own meal because how often can you eat healthy outside? (especially here in Malaysia)
Eating your own prepared foods may sounds crazy to many. But if it's easy, it's no longer valuable!
So are you still interested of getting six-packs? Read on if yes.
A general diet for getting lean are combinations of Protein, Carbs, and Fats, diet ratio of P40: C40: F20 is a good start of getting rip!
You need Protein from lean poultry and meat to build lean muscle tissue.
Good clean energy to train hard and recover well from complex carbohydrates.
A little consumption of healthy Fats for better fat burning and cardiovascular health.
Plenty of fibers for better food fat burning effect, and drink plenty of water to flush out byproducts of fat burning.
My Food List (even if f you're eating out, try to eat these)
Protein: Chicken Breast, Egg Whites, Fish & Lean Beef
Complex Carbs: Sweet Potatoes, Brown rice, Wholewheat Pasta, Oatmeal
Fats: Olive, Raw Nuts, Avocado
Fibers: Broccoli, Cauliflowers, Lettuce, and etc
Beverage: Plain Green Tea and Plain Water
Training
I do 3-5 times of weight training preferably compound exercises on high intensity (8-12 rep range with 90secs rest in between).
3-5 times a week of Cardio training, it can be high intensity but shorter duration of training or the opposite.
Tips: Cardio training can be boring, we want consistency of work for over time results so I strongly suggest you to do something that you like such as cycling, sprints, body pump/combat, steppers and etc.
Being consistent with all above, I guarantee you will build lean muscles and burn thousands & thousands of calories over the time.
