This scruffy beast is the Bornean bearded pig found in tropical rainforests in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. Easily recognisable by their tasseled tail, elongated face, and coarse beard (sometimes up to 15cm long in males). They are long legged pigs with an average weight of about 70kg but up to 120kg. Bearded pigs are typically most active in the mornings and late afternoons - spending midday resting or sleeping. They are also known to follow macaques and gibbons feeding on fruit that has dropped to the forest floor.
I don’t know about you guys, but it sounds quite similar to some of our lockdown days. Projects accomplished early morning - grazing on food - light activity - and lazing around. What is your typical schedule?
