糖尿病人用餐技巧
因為工作關係或種種原因,香港人經常外出用餐,一旦患上糖尿病,飲食宜「三低一高」——低鹽、低糖、低脂及高纖,雖然外食看似很多選擇,但主食一般都以低纖的白飯為主,菜式調味重又脂肪含量高。所以「糖友」要掌握以下用餐技巧,讓你食得健康。不止糖友,其實一般人都適用啊!
情況:主食為白飯
用餐技巧:白飯屬高GI食物,可以叫「少飯」減少食用白飯的份量,配搭多點蔬菜。亦要避免以餸菜醬汁拌飯進食,以免吸收更多油份。
情況:主食為湯麵
用餐技巧:選清湯比濃湯好,選粗麵比幼麵好,只吃麵不喝湯,以免攝取過量鹽份。
情況:主食為肉類
用餐技巧:選擇新鮮肉食比加工食物好,避免香腸、火腿、午餐肉等。
情況:菜式有沙律
用餐技巧:醬汁另上,選擇橄欖油或油醋汁,比蛋黃醬或千島沙律醬好。
情況:蔬菜充滿油或芡汁
用餐技巧:使用過水法,將蔬菜浸泡一下熱水才吃;可以的話直接叫「走油」或「走汁」。
情況:菜式多為炸物
用餐技巧:如果是炸雞類,建議去皮才吃。
情況:套餐附送飲品
用餐技巧:選擇熱飲,糖包會另上,可以自己控制甜度。凍飲的話宜叫「少甜/走甜」甚至「糖漿另上」。

Healthy eating tips for diabetic patients
Due to work and many other reasons, Hong Kong citizens often opt to eat out. But once diagnosed with diabetes, patients will have to watch their diets and make sure what they eat are low in sodium, sugar, and fats and high in fiber.
Eating out might give us endless choices, but most main courses come with white rice that is low in fiber. Other dishes are either often heavily seasoned or high in fats. Therefore, patients with diabetes, or even regular folks, should consider the healthy eating tips below.
Situation: White rice as main course
Tip: white rice has a high GI; opt for a small bowl of rice and eat more vegetables. Avoid drizzling any sauce on the rice, as rice can absorb all the fats in the sauce
Situation: Soup noodles as main course
Tip: opt for clear soup and thick noodles; eat the noodles and avoid drinking the soup, as it is normally high in sodium
Situation: Meat as main course
Tip: choose fresh meat over processed meat; avoid hotdogs, ham, and luncheon meat
Situation: Salad in meals
Tip: separate the sauce of the salad; if possible, choose olive oil or vinaigrette over mayonnaise or thousand island dressing
Situation: Oily or starchy vegetables
Tip: rinse them in hot water to wash out the excess oil and starch; if possible, ask the restaurant to cut down on the use of oil and starch
Situation: Deep fried food
Tip: remove the skin if you are eating fried chicken
Situation: Complimentary beverages
Tip: choose warm drinks, and ask the restaurant to pack the sugar separately; for chilled drinks, opt for less sugar, sugarless, or ask the restaurant to pack the syrup separately
