中山 #蘆兜粽 Zhongshan style Zongzi for Dragon Boat Festival 🕳🐉. I wanted 嘉湖粽 this year but didn't had time to grab them, but luckily got hold of some 中山 versions from Island side. Ironic thing is, this batch is made in Prince Edward's shop near 嘉湖 anyway. Elongated instead of triangular, it uses #蘆兜葉 /露兜葉 🌿 1 large piece of Screw Pine Leaf (Pandanus tectorius) for wrapping, which has a unique Sugary Herbal aroma, a distant relative to Pandan.

In Okinawa you see them along coast lines which almost resembles a Pineapple 🍍, known as #アダン or a relative to #タコノキ . But in this part of 廣東省中山 Canton region its used as Zongzi wraps. My Grandma who's born in this region is said to love eating this more because apart from the Leaf difference, it contains Red Beans 紅豆, more Glutinous Rice 多糯米 proportion but no Mung Bean 綠豆 fillers, compared to Hong Kong versions🦉😳 @ Hong Kong
