續集開頭依舊圍繞在「沒有絕對的好人或壞人」，《暫時停止呼吸2》的整體調性在開場階段，馬上讓觀眾進入狀況。它不想在前作的劇情上打轉，而是直接塞了一個全新的小女孩角色，讓本片「父」與「女」兩個角色上有某種傳承的意味。

我欣賞這個系列電影的劇本，維持在「不穩定天枰」的氛圍之中，不斷考驗著觀眾的道德價值觀，反轉我們對「人」的刻板印象，反思我們時常單純以貌取人的方式評斷他人；但本集在這方面的劇情張力上削弱不少，尤其在電影結尾處讓反派人物走向邪惡方，給出了我們「厭惡」反派的理由，而讓電影整體走向動作娛樂取向的作品。

但整體而言，我仍舊喜歡《暫時停止呼吸2》的電影節奏，沒有太多廢話而是透過影像敘事一個收斂的故事；續作雖難以超越前作，但依舊仍維持在相當精彩的水準之上。值得一提的是，續作的故事規模稍微擴大，也不侷限在單一的密閉空間，但仍然成功營造出困室鬥智的恐懼感，讓我十分欣賞；失去主場優勢的老盲人，遇上擁有軍人背景的入侵者，小女孩的身世來歷也成為了本片懸疑氣氛的助攻元素。
