It's probably not a good time to write a travel post with the ongoing global pandemic which has made countries close their borders. But then again, this is also the period where I reminisce more, look back on some of the fun activities we did previously and try my best to stay positive that one day, things will resume normalcy and we can all go back to doing the things we love to do.

Hope. It's so important to hang onto it and not let it go, it's what keeps us going during the tough times and it's what makes the future worth anticipating.

I've been wanting to write about our first ever glamping - a portmanteau of "glamorous" and "camping" - adventure which we did after Christmas in 2018. Yup, that sounds so far away already yet I can still vividly recall all the fun we had. It's never easy writing a travel post and one usually takes me weeks, if not months. So the next time you read through a post written by a fellow parent blogger, just know that it took lots of hard work and time to put it all together, yeah?

In this post, I'm sharing about our exciting 3D2N stay in Natra Bintan, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, which is formerly known as The Canopi. Right, the name of the resort has changed already after we got back but I believe that most of the activities and facilities remain the same, so this post should still give you a good idea of what to expect.

I don't think we'll be planning for any travel by air anytime this year even if we are allowed to fly but going for a quick weekend getaway by ferry which takes just an hour, I am hoping maybe we can do it sometime next year in 2021? Yup, I hope that sounds reasonable enough and while we want to keep expectations low since the future is unknown, like I say, we also want to give ourselves something to look forward to. The kids had been saying that they wish to return to this place so I'm definitely bookmarking it as a holiday destination that we will revisit. Read on to find out why we all love it so much.

I've had lots of messages asking for help on keeping little ones entertained at home and the biggest thing I would say is just PLAY!

You don't need fancy or Pinterest-worthy activities, you don't need to reinvent yourself as a preschool teacher, you just need the both of you.

Imagine, dream, play, explore, discover, wonder. Build lots of freedom within boundaries that allow for free play and flexibility.

Remember how much magic there is just in the everyday.

Let them lead. Take care of you.

Our top favorite activities so far have been:
Playing masak-masak
Reading lots of books together and on her own
MOPPING (she's obsessed and loves it!)
Starting a balcony planter w some cilantro roots and sprouted onions!
Painting in the shower (easy clean-up!!)
Lots of yoga/movement videos including a Frozen kids yoga she loves)
Playing dress-up
PODCASTS!!! (check out the post yesterday for our favorites!)
and honestly, just being a little kid.

She's learning about the world and herself, of community and practical life skills that are the foundation to development and growth as well as academic learning.

The key and the only thing to keep in mind is let them be little. Be kind and mindful of their growing self-esteem, your words matter so much and little ears are always listening. Help your little one with the hardest part of the task (but not the whole task). Boredom breeds creativity. Allow quiet moments of wonder. Let go of perfection. What you're experiencing now is not the final goal. It is foundational.
Enjoy the time together and in their eyes, this time together is like Christmas.

圣诞“鱼”快！！！
A等妈真的觉得新加坡的圣诞节很赞！连S.E.A.海洋馆都有一系列圣诞活动，会不会太厉害～～～～本来以为只是走马看花，应该很快就逛完了，没想到两个小宝贝，光是找小鱼盖印章就玩得超high的，也很认真在找，完全没有在开玩笑！
而且走这么一遭，A等的环保概念也变得很专业，一点都不输给我们，妈妈我真的觉得这个活动太有意义了！！
今年圣诞节，非常建议大家去S.E.A.海洋馆走走，不但可以让孩子们有个难忘的圣诞，看到孩子的笑容，自己也会觉得幸福满满哦！

Aden’s Mum has nothing but praises for how Singapore celebrates the Christmas occasion. Even S.E.A. Aquarium has a series of Christmas activities for children. Initially, Aden’s mum thought that it wouldn’t take up much time walking through the aquarium, just admiring marine animals. Who would have thought that her two babies got so excited trying to get their activity trail maps stamped by finding new marine animals. They were so serious at it! And this meaningful walk through the aquarium has allowed Aden to increase his knowledge about eco-friendliness and caring for marine life.

Aden’s Mum recommends everyone to check out the S.E.A. Aquarium this Christmas season. It would be an unforgettable and enjoyable Christmas for you and your kids, and no doubt bring happy memories as a family!
