There are many days when I feel like I failed as a mum, when I can't help but think that I must have done something wrong, when I lose my cool and say terrible things that I don't mean and then be wracked with guilt afterwards.
I tell myself that I won't do it again, only to find myself back in the same shoes the next time round, repeating the same mantra "Tomorrow will be a better day", "Everything will be better soon", "I will be a better mum" over and over.
It's never easy being a mother and that I only understood when I became one. Thank you, Ma, for raising me, inculcating values in me and making me who I am today. On the tough days, I only wish I had half of your strength and you have always been my motivation to persevere and not give up. Truth be told, the very thought of you was what kept me going through three childbirths with no epi because I wanted to be strong like you, haha.
To the kids, thank you for loving me unconditionally on both the good and bad days. I will never be the perfect mum but I will try my best to be a good one because you deserve nothing less than that. Today, no matter how many wrongs I did, I tell myself I am enough and give myself a pat on the back. 你行的，加油!
