Stage Activities:
For those who want to join our stage activities, you are all required to register at the registration booth outside Trade Hall 1 (opposite side of the ticket booth). Registration is FREE. Just present your event ticket upon registration. NO EVENT TICKET, NO REGISTRATION. Registration starts at 11:00am on both days unless stated. We will be posting the contest rules soon.

Onegai Onii-chan Japanese Hobby Shop Anime Singing Contest:
Belt out those high notes and take part of these years Anime Singing Contest presented by Onegai Onii-Chan, as we raise it up to the next level. Top three (3) Winners of Otaku Expo Reload 2016 and Otaku Expo 2017 will compete on Ozine Fest 2017 to be the 1st Onegai Onii-Chans and Otakuzine’s Anime Magazine Singing Contest Champion of 2017. The winner will bring home a Trophy/Plaque, Gift pack from Onegai Onii-Chan and a cash prize of PhP 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Pesos).

During Otaku Expo Reload 2016 top three (3) winners will advance to Ozine Fest 2017 competition and receive the following;

Battle of the Bands:
Get those band mates up and your vocal chords ready as we introduce the first Battle of the Band competition with a twist. Three (3) winners from Otaku Expo Reload 2016 and Otaku Expo 2017 will advance to Ozine Fest 2017 and compete to be the first Otakuzine’s Battle of the Band Champion of 2017. The grand winner will bring home a Trophy/Plaque, Gift Pack from Sponsors and a cash prize of PhP 10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Pesos).

During Otaku Expo Reload 2016, two (2) winners will receive the following;

Vogue Royale and Perry in Disguise Cosplay Competition – One of the main highlights of our event. Individual Cosplay competition will be on August 7, 2016 (Sunday). Five winners will be chosen with the following format;

Anime Inspired Eating Contest: (All eating contest will take place on both days)

Kagami’s Burger Eating Contest – Contestants will be provided a number of Burgers (will depend on size for the quantity). The first one to finish will be declared the winner.

Naruto Instant Noodle Challenge – Contestants will be given five (5) instant noodles (Cup Noodles) that they will need to chow down (Using wooden chopstick). Before you can proceed to consume the next cup, you will need to finish the current cup including the soup. The first one to consume the five (5) cup noodles wins.

CC Pizza Eating Contest – Contestants will be given a box of pizza, and the first one to consume the whole pizza wins.

Trivia:
During free stage time our host will pop up any anime/events related question/s. Whoever answers it correctly will have an Otaku Expo Reload freebies.

On Ground Activities:

Lupel Marketing and Draw and Create Manga Art Contest – Contestants are required to present event ticket upon registration. Contestants are limited to thirty (30) participants per day. First come first serve will be implemented.

Kimochi Hobby Shop presents the first ever Arena Draft. Compete with fellow Weiss Schwartz (Day 1) and YuGiOH (Day 2) players and duel it out. Aside from this, Kimochi Hobby Shop also offers tutorials on how to play both games. Just visit any of their staff. For more detail visit their official page.

For this episode, we headed back to Neo’s Kitchen to attempt a LEVEL 99 SPICY MALA WONTON CHALLENGE! EB Food is organising a timed wonton challenge with the launch of their new product, EB Shrimp Wonton with Mala Sauce. Eating the greatest number of EB wontons in 5 minutes will net you a cash prize of $2000, with further cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Full details listed below:

The EB Shrimp Wonton with Mala Sauce came neatly packed in a pleasantly-enough designed box that really undersold the potency of the Mala sauce. They were simple to cook - boil the 12 wontons for 5 minutes, warm up the Mala sauce in hot water and mix them all together. The Mala sauce was a menacing shade of red glistening with Mala oil radiating that signature Mala aroma. The wontons themselves respectably plumped up considerably during cooking. Each had a whole shrimp in them. When mixed together, each wonton ended up adopting an even shade of red with small clumps of Mala sauce noticeable throughout.

I attempted this challenge with Mervin (there is a buddy requirement). From the number of wontons we prepared versus the number consumed, it was clear that we underestimated this challenge. We thought it would be a speed challenge, but it ended up being a spice challenge due to our low spice tolerance and the unexpected heat of the Mala sauce. Out of the 100+ wontons we cooked, we only ate 48 between us within the 5 minutes limit.

Note that our attempt does not count for the official challenge, so please do find a buddy (preferably someone who loves Mala) and win yourself $2000! The wontons are also Halal, so Muslim viewers can join as well!
