Tips Apabila Terbang (1)
Dalam apa sahaja pekerjaan, kalau ia dibuat berulang kali, anda kena pandai menjadikannya lebih bermakna & berkualiti. Ramai orang terperangkap dalam penjara rutin. Buat banyak kerja setiap hari tapi hasil & output kurang sangat. Mengajar & belajar. Memandu & dipandu. Menulis & membaca. Memasak & menjamu selera. Bersukan & beriadah.
Terbang amat kerap dalam hidup saya. Sebelum Februari 2020, saya berada di luar Malaysia hampir 180 hari setahun. Hampir separuh tahun. Mungkin 80 hari berada di udara & pelbagai lapangan terbang. Kerap juga dalam satu hari, berada lebih dari satu negara. Mungkin sarapan di KL, makan tengahari di Dubai & makan malam di Istanbul. Saya masih ingat terbang ke Kabul dari Dubai jam 7 pagi & pulang dari Kabul jam 7 malam hari yang sama.
Tips pertama jadikan rutin ini bentuk pekerjaan baru lagi aktif. Ada misinya. Ada outputnya. Ada aturan masanya setiap minit & tapak serta jarak. Saya dah tahu apa nak buat waktu menunggu masa berlepas, waktu sebelum take-off, semasa take off, waktu makan, waktu lampu digelapkan, waktu nak mendarat, waktu imigresyen, waktu menunggu barang, bila dah check in kat hotel & diari di hari baru di tempat baru. Ini diari pekerja yang efektif. Bukan datang ofis tapi tak tahu nak buat apa. Bila disuruh baru bergerak.
Tips kedua rawati diri sendiri. Bila tengah segar & fit, buat kerja paling berat & mencabar. Bila dah penat, baru buat yang ringan & menyeronokkan. Bila nak bermula penerbangan, saya baca atau menulis semahunya. Bila nak letih minda & mata, saya menjawab segala email, whatsapp atau menonton movie, dokumentari & sukan. Jangan terbalikkan. Jangan juga buang masa. Bagitu juga di tempat kerja di atas darat. Jangan mulakan pagi anda dengan melayan email & whatsapp.
Tips seterusnya adalah tentang ekosistem. Jadikan lounge, tempat duduk, rakan sebelah anda, waktu beratur di kaunter imigresyen sebahagian daripada hidup anda. Bukan sia2. Semasa saya beratur, habis semua whatsapp & email dijawab. Pilih pesawat & masa penerbangan paling anda suka. Ini cara hidup best.
Tips paling power ialah jadikan penerbangan anda bervisi tinggi. Macamana?
