According to WaterAid and Unicef, more than a third of girls in South Asia miss school during their periods. It's often due to the fact they lack access to toilets or pads. They also lack access to basic facts about menstruation.
Suhani Jalota is an activist who works to improve women's sanitary hygiene in India. She is the founder of the Myna Mahila Foundation which is also one of only a handful of charities chosen to benefit from donations marking the recent royal wedding.
