Many years ago, I used to reside at Desa Pandan in town which is quite near to Pudu & Jalan Pasar area. The old part of Kuala Lumpur bears many tasty memories for me during my 14 years of stay in Klang Valley. 😍😍

So when a foodie friend of mine asked me for recommendations of some good old simple food in Pudu, I would not hesitate to refer them to one of the favourites stalls - Phoon Kee Fish Ball Noodles stall located at Jalan Seladang, off Jalan Pasar in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. 😋😋

You will enjoy the bouncy & chewy texture of the homemade fish ball together with the deep-fried charred side of the fish cakes. Both are absolutely delicious on their own, served in soup or you can order your fishball noodles with your choice of noodles such as Yellow mee, Meehoon & Kuey Teow. 🍜🍜

Today's dinner at @ewestrestaurant my first time here. Partially confused about the direction of location between 5th Avenue (in front) and E-West (at the back near housing area) but managed to move my car and parked at the basement of E-West. Also not fond of narrow entry to the parking 😅

E-West could cater to 4-5 pax per table and up to 47 pax in total.
5th Avenue could cater to 20 pax in total.

🔹 Deep Fried Beancurd with Crispy Khailan and Minced Meat (Pic 5) - love the combo especially the crispy khailan and minced meat bits.
🔹 Guinness Malta Lamb (Pic 1 & 2) - So good. Yummy, sweet and tender 🤤🤤🤤 portion wise needs moreeeee 🙈
🔹 Crispy Roasted Chicken with Jelly Fish (Pic 4) - Can I just eat jelly fish? 🤣
🔹 Salted Fish Fried Rice (Pic 8) - One of my favorite, took most of the rice #riceislyfe this is so 😋👍🏻
🔹Crispy Salted Egg Chicken Skin (Pic 10) - thin and crispy, a pinch of sugar, love it.

ร้านลูกชิ้นปลาที่เปิดมาสู่ทายาทรุ่นที่ 3 เป็นเวลากว่า 40 ปี มีพระเอกที่ลูกชิ้นปลาเด้ง ทำสดใหม่ฉบับต้นตำรับที่ไม่ว่าใครกินก็เป็นอันติดใจ ซึ่งตอนนี้ได้เปิดให้กินที่ร้านได้แล้ว!

จากวิกฤต COVID-19 ทำให้ทางร้านต้องเปลี่ยนมาเป็นการขายแบบ “สั่งกลับบ้าน” เป็นการชั่วคราวมาตลอดทั้งเดือนเมษายน จนในวันที่ 3 พฤษภาคม 2563 ได้เริ่มเปิดให้นั่งกินในร้านสาขาแรกที่สาขานางลิ้นจี่ โดยมีมาตรการอย่างเคร่งครัด ในเบื้องต้นก็ขอความร่วมมือจากลูกค้าด้วยการสวมหน้ากากอนามัยก่อนเข้าร้าน (สามารถถอดได้ขณะนั่งกินเท่านั้น) ป้องกันไว้ก่อนเพื่อความสบายใจของทุกฝ่าย และมีการวัดอุณหภูมิด้วยเครื่องมือที่เชื่อถือได้ ให้ไม่เกิน 37.5 องศา

“ถามว่ากระทบมั้ย แน่นอนว่าก็ต้องมีบ้างแน่นอน (หัวเราะ) แต่เราก็ต้องปรับตัวให้ได้ ต้องอยู่ให้ได้ รับมือกับสถานการณ์ต่าง ๆ ให้ได้” คุณอิ๋ว - ภารดี คลังสุนทรรังษี เจ้าของร้านได้เล่าให้ฟังว่าทุกคนก็ต้องช่วย ๆ กัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นทั้งฝ่ายร้านค้าเอง หรือตัวลูกค้าเอง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการล้างมือหรือดูแลตัวเองอย่างสม่ำเสมอ

นอกจากนี้ทางร้านยังขอความร่วมมือให้ลูกค้าทุกคนนั่งกินไม่เกิน 1 ชั่วโมง เราชอบการจัดโต๊ะที่เป็นสัดเป็นส่วน มีการเว้นระยะห่างชัดเจนและให้นั่งกินได้ได้ 1 คน ต่อ 1 โต๊ะ และยังจัดให้ทุกโต๊ะหันหน้าไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน

เมื่อวันที่ 9 พฤษภาคม 2563 เจ้าหน้าที่เขตวังทองหลาง พร้อมด้วย ทหาร ตำรวจ ได้ลงพื้นที่ตรวจร้านลูกชิ้นปลาบรรทัดทอง สาขาลาดพร้าว 71 ตามมาตรการป้องกันการแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อโรค Covid-19 ซึ่งก็ได้รับการผ่านเกณฑ์และข้อกำหนด เรียบร้อยแล้วด้วย!

ถึงจะเป็นร้านสตรีทฟู้ด แต่ก็มีมาตรการต่าง ๆ ให้ทุกคนได้อุ่นใจ ทางร้านให้ความสำคัญทั้งความสะอาด สุขลักษณะการปรุงอาหาร ทุกอย่างต้องสะอาดและเนี๊ยบทั้งหน้าบ้านและหลังบ้าน ลวกเส้น ทำด้วยใจชามต่อชาม หากมาถึงที่ก็อยากจะให้ลองเมนูซิกเนเจอร์ที่หากินไม่ได้ง่ายอย่าง บะหมี่เป๊าะ ที่คล้ายบะหมี่ไข่ แต่มีลักษณะยาวแบน เหนียวนุ่มมาก ๆ

RECIPE: Som Tum (Thai green papaya salad) | Làm nộm đu đủ kiểu Thái |Chef Dan
INGREDIENTS / NGUYÊN LIỆU
Green papaya/ Đu đủ xanh : 1 (small)
Dried shrimp/ Tôm khô: 50gr
Tomato/ Cà chua: 1
String bean/ đậu đũa: 50gr
Chilly pepper/ Ớt cay: 4
Lime/ chanh: 3
Cabbage/ bắp cải: 100gr
Crush peanut/ lạc giã : 50gr
Garlic/ Tỏi
Sugar, Thai fish sauce/ Đường, nước mắm Thái
HOW TO MAKE/ CÁCH LÀM :
- Peel green papaya and clean well with water to get off the latex. Scrape papaya into thread in a bowl of ice cold water with some salt (Gọt đu đủ và rửa thật sạch nhựa. Nạo đu đủ thành sợi nhỏ rồi mang ngâm vào nước đá, cho thêm chút muối)
- Crush garlic and chilly with sugar until smooth (Giã tỏi và ớt cùng đường đến khi thật nhuyễn)
- Clean papaya again and let them dry then add to food mortar (Rửa sợi đu đu sạch lại một lần nữa, để ráo nước và cho vào cối giã)
- Add tomato, string bean, lime juice, lime skin, dried shrimp and crush again. Use a spoon to mix them well. Add fish sauce in end (Cho cà chua, đậu đũa, nước cốt chanh và 1 ít vỏ chanh, tôm khô vào giã tiếp. Dùng 1 chiếc thìa để đảo cho đều. Cuối cùng cho nước nắm vào trộn đều
- Plating, topping with peanut and enjoy ! (Bày ra đĩa, rắc lạc và thưởng thức ! )
