Shoe Review on Mizuno Wave Emperor - Racing Shoe
First of all, I would like to say Thank you again to World of Sports Malaysia, Mizuno for giving me the chance to be the Brand Ambassador.
General specs about the shoe:�Arch Support: Neutral Pronation�Terrain: Road�Weight: Women 155 g, Men 185 g
I got this pair of shoe in end of July before I went to Taiwan for the UM Outbound Program. Tested it on the track at Taiwan for the first time, I found it had a really strong grip on forefoot of the shoe. I tried it on the 200m Track at Taiwan and is like tap-tap-tap-tap-tap, when running on the track The tiny little black thing underneath provide a better friction for me to plantar flex my feet and apply a better force on to the ground and push me forward.
Other than that, I have ran 7 road races and 1 trail race with this Mizuno Wave Emperor. Based on this 7 road races, I remembered when I ran on the Seremban 10km, I landed on a plastic material and when I want to push away and run forward, I slipped to the front, and thankfully my next step provide me a fast-responsive cushioning with a touch of support prevent me from falling forward.
Next, I use this shoe on the Forest Trail Run at FRIM. Personally feel that Wave Emperor able to help up with running up the hill. Again, due to the strong grip underneath at the forefoot part and it makes you easier to run up the hill. I ran up the hill non stop with the help of the grip that provide a strong friction to stop me at the forefoot part and continuous move up the hill and prevent me from slide backwards.
In the recent race, Run For National Unity, 5km road run starting at Padang Merbok. It was raining heavily before flag off and still raining when we run the race. I love the strong grip underneath again as it allow me to run through the water surface on the road. Easily without paying much attention on where I land and just concentrate running in the group, focus in the forward motion.
A solid, feather light weight shoe for distance from 5km up to 15km run shoe. I would suggest this pair of shoe to those who want to run a faster pace with about under 65kg bodyweight and focus in much more shorter distance than Half marathon. I believe this pair of shoe suit to run half marathon as well due to it's tough grip and able to let you run efficient and ensure you a smooth ride.
A rating of 9.5/10 for this pair of racing shoe from my point of view. �Great Light Feather Racing Shoe.

【Flexibility(柔軟度)的原始義與重要性】
上個星期課程結束後有學員問起課程中柔軟操的動作,剛好主辦單位RQ拍下來放在網路上。
這些動作並非出自我原創,而是跟尼可拉斯.羅曼諾夫博士(Pose Method®的創辦人)學來的,他說他帶奧運選手時也要求他們每天做。
他在《羅曼諾夫的姿勢跑法》一書中有提到,優秀的柔軟度包含三大要素,分別是關節的可活動度、韌帶與肌腱的伸縮能力、肌肉的放鬆程度
,其中最重要的是「關節的可活動度」。下面把《羅曼諾夫的姿勢跑法》與《跑步該怎麼跑》兩本書中的幾段關於柔軟度的譯文截錄出來分享:
傳統會認為肌肉可以被伸展和拉長,但從解剖學教科書中我們可以得知:肌肉的長度是固定的,而且肌肉的長度是由與其相搭配的骨頭與關節的尺寸來決定。
「柔軟度」一字的英文是:flexability,可被拆成「flex」(彎曲)與「ability」(能力)兩個字根。因此柔軟度一詞代表的就是「關節自由彎曲的能力」。
柔軟度跟肌肉的放鬆程度有密切的關係,愈放鬆的肌肉關節彎曲的幅度也能愈大。從這個角度來看,吸引我的不是肌肉,而是關節。肌肉只是支撐在關節上並賦予它活動的能力,如果關節活動度不夠的話,肌肉力量再大,運動表現都會受到限制。因此在進行這類活動度的訓練時,你的心態需要調整,本章的動作有別於一般傳統的伸展運動,你無須用力把肌肉拉到緊繃,短暫輕柔的伸展也能達到放鬆肌肉與釋放壓力的效果,也就是說伸展無法使肌肉本身變得更長,但卻可以使它變得更靈敏與更放鬆。本章的動作主要是藉由釋放關節的活動潛能,來改善你身體的功能性與活動度,使它具有更大的可動範圍。這跟單純的伸展肌肉是兩回事。
原文:The dynamic movements you are about to learn are a little different from the conventional stretching methods you were taught in high school— methods based on the antiquated notion that muscles can be stretched and lengthened. From anatomy textbooks it is well-known that a muscle’s length is fixed and determined by the size of the supporting bones and joints. Flexibility, by the meaning of the two
words—“flex” and “ability”—is the ability to freely move the joints. The key to flexibility, as it relates to muscles, is their ability to relax, allowing your joints to move. In this respect, I am appealing not to muscles, but to joints. The muscles support and empower joint movement. This type of mobility work requires a different mind-set than traditional stretching. Gentle stretching with short holds can also relax the muscle involved, releasing tension, which in turn makes the muscle not longer, per se, but more responsive. By freeing up the movement potential of your joints, you will improve your functional mobility, allowing you to move through larger ranges of motion. This has nothing to do with stretching your muscles.
溫故而知新,《跑步該怎麼跑》第35章〈柔軟度〉有幾段話,可以讓所有想變強的耐力運動員好好思考,是否該把「柔軟度」當成像LSD和亞索八百同等重要的訓練:
人的身體之中沒有不重要的部分。雖然我們一再強調跑步時最主要的使力點是後大腿肌群,但當你盡全力跑時身體的每一條肌肉都會互相配合,所以從最小的關節到最大的肌群都要準備妥當。想要跑得好,身體的每一個地方都需要受到重視。(220頁)
當我們想到關節與其周邊相關組織的價值時,最厲害的跑者流暢且毫不費力的跑步身影總會出現在我們的腦海中。那是因為流暢與不費力的動作不可能經由吱嘎吱嘎響的關節與其周邊僵硬的組織所完成。也許有些人的身體天生就很柔軟,但其實一般人只要經過適度的訓練,身體的柔軟度都能明顯提升。(220頁)
大部分的人都知道阿姆斯壯抗癌復出之後改變騎乘風格的故事,那使他從爆發力十足的單日公路賽選手,變成主宰世界驛站多日賽的冠軍選手。事實上,他在一九九九與二零零零年連續兩年贏得環法賽之後,很多人都曾自然興起一個疑問:「經過癌症的折磨後,他怎麼可能變得更厲害?」(218頁)
阿姆斯壯準備二零零一年的環法賽期間,回答了那個問題。他說他在每天的訓練菜單中加入一個全新的元素:「一天拉筋一小時」。拉筋是否有效?他的成績就是最好的證據,那一年他以新的騎乘風格連續贏得了瑞士巡迴賽與環法賽。拉筋不只可以使他的力量和爆發力有更好的發揮空間,而且也能幫助他在一站接一站的賽事中恢復地更快。從二零零一年的六月到七月,持續五週的高強度賽事中,他的身體都處於極佳的狀態。(218頁)
