Salam semua.
Syukur Alhamdulillah, the food tasting & interview session with a few of Sabah's most influencial press went very well this afternoon and they were so impressed with the taste profile of my Terengganu cuisine. Even the hotel's owner, Datuk Raymond Chan & his business associates who flew in all the way from KL pun terpesona dengan citarasa nasi dagang & kerutuk daging Terengganu after indulging it walaupun dapat sikit je.
But most importantly, I was very impressed with the kitchen team they have at Novotel 1Borneo. Although all of them are quite young with not so much experience at hand, they were so eager to work with me and learn those 'alien' dishes by cooking them under my tight supervision. The spirit was simply amazing!
I must admit that I'm very proud to see our young local talents here who are really into their trade and they know exactly what they want out of this prestigious, yet very demanding profession. It was such a pleasurable experience training them in the kitchen today and I'm definitely looking forward to enjoy this sweet experience till the end of this month. Hopefully I'll leave a legacy upon returning to KL by month end.
However yang kelakarnya, after completed my interview & photography session, I went back into the kitchen only to discover that all the dishes we masak were completely gone!! Rupanya semua dah ditelan dek kitchen staff yang sebenarnya dah menggelegak dari pagi nak mencuba sesuatu yang baru to them! Hilarious!
Anyway, ladies & gentlemen, if you are living in KK or visiting during this Ramadhan, I'd like to invite you to Novotel 1Borneo to saveur my sumptuous East Coast delicacies throughout this holy month.
To guarantee the authenticity of Terengganu cuisine served to you, all rempah-ratus for nasi dagang & laksa are specially flown in from Kuala Terengganu by me, together with the original keropok lekor.
FYI, I'll be cooking & entertaining the guests daily at the restaurant called 'SQUARE' from 23-29 July 2012 during berbuka puasa. Dengar cerita almost all seats have been booked long before puasa bermula and the hotel has to even tambah kerusi meja lagi.
We have also invited a group or anak-anak yatim together with the Sabah Tourism Minister & ERA FM to berbuka puasa bersama on July 23rd.
In addition, ADABI, Jamu Mak Dara, Colavita olive oil, Barilla Pasta, Julie's Biscuits and many more have packed their goodies/hampers for the lucky draws to be given away to lucky patrons. ADABI's Executive Chef will fly in to distribute some duit raya to anak-anak comel itu nanti and I must thank them for their kindness & generosity.
