I wanted to get some proper shots without an umbrella, hence ended up getting my hair all wet and frizzy (shouldn’t have bothered curling my hair really). It’s the rainy season that brings all these gorgeous flowers though, so I guess there’s no room for complaints. Do be smarter than me and NOT wear white shoes. I ended up having to throw them away cause it was covered in soil... #lessonlearnt —————

In on of my previous posts, I mentioned how Shiba Park 芝公園 is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Tokyo. If you have a bit more time, grab a sandwich (or donut if you’re like me) and some drinks, and have a little picnic here while enjoying the beautiful view of Tokyo tower. Donut worry (pun intended, again #noshame ) if you miss it though! While the park might be too dark after the sun sets, the Prince Hotel Tokyo is only 2 minutes walk away, and their bar offers great cocktails and a stunning view of Tokyo’s landscape.

In this digital age, where the line between personal branding on social media and reality is often blurred, it’s not uncommon to feel confused of who we really are. I firmly believe that there should always be a reason for doing or not doing something, and we must ask ourselves what it is. It doesn’t have to be something great at all, as the saying goes “time enjoyed is not time wasted”(close enough?), but let’s not spend our time mindlessly doing things we couldn’t care less about, simply because it’s the “social norm”. Don’t worry about impressing other people, focus on impressing yourself! Whether it’s getting a new job, traveling somewhere, buying new shoes, studying for a masters degree... always always question yourself. Is it what your heart wants? Or is it what your uni schoolmate, colleague, neighbour or cousin think is “cool”?
Happiness is unique for everyone, and it’s no one’s responsibility but our own. We only have so much time and resources, so don’t spend it on fulfilling others’ expectations. Learn to love yourself more💕
