If you are a fan of old HK, you will love all the exhibits in “Striving and Transforming - The History of Hong Kong Industry” in the Hong Kong Museum of history! Don’t forget to read all the museum label! Very informative and it is interesting to learn the history! The facts probably surprise you:
Hong Kong was the “birth place” of cabbage Patch Kids 椰菜娃娃
Hong Kong was once the major production source of of export silver in the late 19th century, they were even supplied to Tiffany & Co.!
The extremely popular Made in Hong Kong Rattan Chairs were commissioned even for Buckingham Palace!

- Museum will adopt admission quotas to limit visitor flow. You need to take an admission slip before you can purchase your ticket. Check the time printed on the admission slip. The visiting hours printed on our admission slip was 12:30-14:30. We got our slip at 13:30 and I only knew that had to leave at 14:30 when the museum made announcement at 14:15. The exhibition is so good, that I can spend at least 1.5 hour on it and there are other permanent exhibitions in the museum too! Everyone needs to leave the museum (not the exhibition hall only) at 14:30 for a 30-min venue cleansing. You can enter the museum again with your admission ticket at 15:00 again.
- Hand sanitizer is provided. Clean your hand from time to time, wear your mask at all times!
- I love the painting outside the washroom (not in the exhibition hall). Check that out! (See last photo)
