The Foolish but Powerful Solution to your Problems

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void. For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:17-25‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When we’re going through perilous troubles, the last thing we usually want to do is listen to preaching.

Your mind of flesh may be screaming something like this: “I got to do something about it. This is not the time to relax and listen about Jesus!”

However when you discern in the spirit, listening to the word about Jesus’ finished work at the cross is to key to accessing God’s saving power.

We have been programmed by the world that doing things is practical whereas listening to messages is an optional luxury.
The wisdom of the world is the opposite of God’s wisdom.

God says that if you want to access His wisdom and power, you must listen to preaching about “Christ crucified”.

Unbelievers and the devil may call you foolish for prioritizing the hearing of the Gospel, but God considers them foolish because you are doing the wisest thing in His eyes.

“When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters were taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more power to weep. David’s two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the souls of all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God. David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” Abiathar brought the ephod to David. David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, will I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue; for you will surely overtake them, and will without fail recover all.”” (1 Samuel‬ ‭30:3-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

David was facing great danger. The city he was in charge of was burned with fire, and the people of the city were all taken captive.
The men who were with David even spoke of stoning him.

In such an urgent situation, most of us would be tempted to react through the flesh instead of responding through the spirit.

But David had a revelation that he needed to seek the Lord’s counsel in everything he did.

He paused and inquired of Yahweh (Jesus). The Lord gave him divine wisdom saying that he should pursue and that he would recover all.

If you are facing a difficult situation today, I encourage you to receive messages about Jesus’ finished work at the cross, and also to seek His counsel first before acting—He will guide you through the Holy Spirit and provide you with a way out of your troubles!

How to Wait Effectively

“I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning.” (Psalms‬ ‭130:5-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

Waiting for the Lord is not a passive activity. It may sound like doing nothing in the natural, but waiting is actually being watchful, actively expecting your breakthrough at any moment.

This is the kind of effective, active faith that receives breakthroughs.

The watchmen on the city walls have to be attentive at all times, peering into the horizon for any signs of activity.
Imagine being more attentive and expectant than these watchmen.

When you pray, expect to see the fulfillment of your prayers swiftly because you believe God is so good to you and that He’s urgently wanting to deliver you from your troubles the moment you call on Him in faith.

“Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”” (Luke‬ ‭18:7-8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Faith is not about saying, “If it’s God’s will, He will give it to me eventually. If not, then it’s okay.”
That kind of spiritual dullness cannot receive anything from the Lord.
It’s like trying to fight an enemy with a rusty blade.

“But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭WEB)

God’s word is not ambiguous and His will is not a secret.
It is clearly written that God wants you to prosper in all things and be healthy. He wants you victorious, delivered from troubles, walking in His supernatural power and more.

Whatever He has promised in His written word, you can confidently expect it to happen when you ask for it.
Perhaps you have been hurt in the past when your prayers didn’t seem to come to pass.
If you don’t dare to trust God again in fear of being disappointed, I would like to encourage you to trust Him again.

“For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”” (Romans‬ ‭10:11‬ ‭WEB)

His word declares that none who trust Him will be disappointed.
Believe that what was allowed to happen in the past was to protect you from something worse, and that it was already made less severe because you prayed.

There’s so many things we don’t know about happening in the unseen spiritual realm whereby angels and demons go about their activities—we have to trust that prayer works and that good things happen because we pray.

If you want a breakthrough in your life—whatever it is, let your faith arise as you meditate on His goodness, love and grace towards you.
Then as you speak forth what you believe, it’ll be like swinging a sharp blade to cut the cords of wickedness in your life, freeing you from the enemy’s bondage!

Our Great God Protects His Beloved

“And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison, and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. They went up over the width of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them. The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation‬ ‭20:7-10‬ ‭WEB‬)

Can you imagine an army led by the devil as vast as the number of grains of sand in the sea—how scary that would be in the natural?

You’d expect that army to bulldoze through everything. It will surround Jerusalem at that time.

The fact that the army could make it there must mean that it had destroyed all the lines of defense that protected Jerusalem.

And yet when the devil thinks he’s going to win it all, he will realize that God has been waiting for that exact moment to utterly destroy him.

Fire falls from Heaven and destroys the vast demonic armies that will cover the face of the earth.

Everything temporal will be burnt up and only Jerusalem will be left untouched with the lake of fire exposed and burning hot under it.

The devil will be cast into the lake of fire. His screams of agony will be the loudest, echoing throughout eternity, for he filled the cup of wrath for himself beyond measure.

When it seems like the enemy is making inroads in your life, it doesn’t mean that God is unaware of what’s going on.

There is a perfect moment for Him to save you and to demonstrate His greatest glory.
Without an opportunity for Satan to make his move, we won’t be able to see exactly how much greater our God is.

No matter how great the challenge, we’ll always discover that our God is greater.

At that time in the Millennium there will be a temple in Jerusalem—the one that prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of. The armies of Satan will surround that temple.

The apostle Paul taught that today our bodies are the temple of God since it houses the Holy Spirit.

It may seem like your spiritual enemies have got you surrounded right now. They may have broken through some lines of defense.

But I’m telling you, fire from Heaven is going to fall upon those demons at the perfect time.
They may have gathered against you one way, but they will flee seven ways after being incinerated by the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Get a sense of how much greater your God is than the devil. The devil is small fry. If God is for you, no devil nor demon can stand against you!

Just like Jerusalem is referred to as the “beloved city” in the passage above, you are also God’s beloved child.
When you believe you are His beloved, you will remain in peace because you know you’re going to win!

After the passage above is the part about the Great White Throne Judgment.
In my book “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”, I elaborate about the encouraging truths about judgment for believers before Jesus’ throne, how to maximize our eternal rewards, live a worthy life and fulfill our God-given calling!

Jesus wants us to receive the best rewards that last forever. One day we will stand before His throne to receive our eternal rewards.
By His Grace, we can redeem the time and walk wisely when time is so short!

I believe the Rapture will happen soon so we need to understand reward theology more than ever—our redemption draws near so its time to be looking up!
