The Last Trumpet
“Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52 WEB)
Many who don’t believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture, say that The Rapture will only happen at “the last trumpet”, and they connect this to the seventh trumpet in the Book of Revelation.
However, this is not the only “trumpet” that is Biblical.
There is an annual feast instituted by God in the Bible called “The Feast of Trumpets”, or “Yom Teruah” in Hebrew.
“Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh.’”” (Leviticus 23:23-25 WEB)
This Feast is actually a picture of the Rapture—our rest from the sufferings and sorrows of this world.
The other feasts are also pictures of things related to Jesus Christ.
Feast of Passover - Jesus’ death at the cross
Feast of Unleavened Bread - Jesus’ body lies in the tomb
Feast of Firstfruits - Jesus’ resurrection from the dead
Feast of Pentecost - Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to baptize His church
Feast of Trumpets - Jesus returning for His church at the last trumpet
Day of Atonement - Jesus returning to save Israel and destroy the Antichrist at the end of the Tribulation
Feast of Tabernacles - Jesus sets up the Millennial Kingdom of Christ
As we can see, four of the seven feasts have been fulfilled, and the next one awaiting fulfillment is the Feast of Trumpets that corresponds with the Rapture.
On the Feast of Trumpets every year, a shofar is sounded in Israel. It produces a melodious, resonant sound that gives a sense of victory. The shofar is sounded in a series of blasts.
Therefore, the last trumpet can also refer to the final blast of the trumpet. You can watch this video to listen to how the shofar is sounded on the Feast of Trumpets: https://youtu.be/uPvfGPfHdQU
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 WEB)
I believe in a pre-Tribulation Rapture (the great snatching away/ harpazo). One reason is because God’s word says that we are not appointed to wrath, but to salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. The seven years of Tribulation is the time of God’s “wrath”.
“For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 WEB)
The line after that is an obvious reference to the Rapture: that, whether we wake (Christians still alive at Jesus’ return) or sleep (saints who are dead in Christ), we should live together with Him. This will be fulfilled at the Rapture.
God’s trumpet that announces the Rapture is not the seventh trumpet of the Book of Revelation. It is a different trumpet handled by one of the archangels.
This trumpet can be sounded at any time soon—we don’t know the day or hour, but this definitely appears to be the right season. Look up, and get ready to meet our Lord Jesus!

It’s Him, Not You!
“Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”” (Exodus 3:10-12 WEB)
When God says “I will send you,” it means that He has prepared everything you need to accomplish the task, even His miracle-working power.
Moses had fled from Egypt after accidentally killing an Egyptian soldier many years ago and was still haunted by the fear and shame of what happened back then. This traumatic event caused Moses to become self-conscious, with an inferiority complex.
When God said “I will”, Moses said “Who am I”. Moses’ focus is wrong because the ability and worthiness was never found in him, but in God.
When God sends you, it is not because you are good, but because He chooses you, and that makes you the perfect person for the job. He can transform someone who is utterly incapable to become a mighty vessel to showcase His power.
“Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’” Yahweh said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it. Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand. “That they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” Yahweh said furthermore to him, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow. He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh. “It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”” (Exodus 4:1-9 WEB)
Moses was still self-conscious, feeling unqualified for the huge task. God gave him two supernatural signs to cause the people to believe. When God sends you to deliver a message, you are not relying on persuasive speeches and cunningly devised words, but on the power of God.
“My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 WEB)
The world has no access to this power, so it has to depend on natural speaking techniques only, but God can give you favor with men, cause miracles to happen as you speak, and stir the hearts of the listeners through the Holy Spirit. Don’t rule out the supernatural.
“Moses said to Yahweh, “O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.” He said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”” (Exodus 4:10-13 WEB)
Even after receiving the direct mandate from God, and two supernatural signs to convince the people with, Moses was still focused on himself and his lack of ability.
He disqualified himself based on his weaknesses, but this is because he didn’t have the New Covenant revelation that God’s power is made perfectly clear in our weaknesses.
In the very area of his weakness (mouth), God promised to be with him. When God is with you in something, it will surely prosper exceedingly and abundantly above all that you can think or imagine.
Moses was still afraid and asked God to send someone else. God was angry at his unbelief, and the anointing of speech was eventually given to Aaron (Moses’ brother) instead. Moses missed out on receiving God’s powerful grace, and settled for relying on Aaron to be his spokesman.
The apostle Paul also learned the revelation of receiving God’s strength through his own life experience.
“He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 WEB)
If you are like Moses who was slow of speech and ineloquent, or if you are weak in any other area, see that as a qualification to receive God’s great power in that area. It is precisely because you are weak that you are God’s perfect candidate for the job. When you are weak, then you are strong because the power of Christ will rest on you!

Be well-supplied during this financial drought:
““Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.” So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her, and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.” As she was going to get it, he called to her, and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” She said, “As Yahweh your God lives, I don’t have a cake, but a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son. For Yahweh, the God of Israel says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth.’” She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, and he, and her house, ate many days. The jar of meal didn’t run out, and the jar of oil did not fail, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:9-16 WEB)
Jesus uses weak things to demonstrate His perfect power.
Of all people, Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Jesus) commanded a poor widow to feed the prophet.
She already had no husband to take care of her and still had to feed a son.
Why would the Lord ask so much sacrifice from her?
He could have chosen a rich man to feed Elijah, but why didn’t He?
He was setting up an opportunity to bless the widow. If she responded in faith, she would receive a miracle.
Remember that it was a time of drought and famine in the land.
The worldly, logical thing to do would be to keep her last morsel of food for her son and herself.
After all, she didn’t know the prophet personally. Why should she feed him?
Yet the widow responded to Yahweh’s command with faith. Even though she expected to die for her choice, she still did it.
That faith allowed her to receive a miraculous multiplication of her food. That little morsel of meal and oil did not run out until the day that the drought ended.
If she had selfishly kept the food and chose to fend for herself, she would prolong her life for a few days, but still end up dying.
In this season of financial drought and famine upon the world, don’t stop your gestures of giving and kindness.
You may think that stopping your giving is the smart thing to do to ensure your survival, but that is only a temporary band-aid, which still leads to no breakthrough.
Money is a type of seed. If you sow no financial seeds, you have no basis to expect to receive any harvests
“Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” (2 Corinthians 9:6 WEB)
Remember that the widow would have starved to death if she didn’t give the little she had by faith.
In this season, look out for whoever the Holy Spirit leads you to be a blessing to. If He prompts you to be generous to a fellow Christian brother or sister, don’t harden your heart just because it’s a scary time of uncertainty.
Recognize that Jesus is setting you up to receive a financial blessing. Whenever you give by faith as instructed by Him, even if it doesn’t seem smart to do so, He will multiply a huge harvest of blessings back to you.
It will last you all the way till the end of the financial drought—you will be well provided for when you respond in faith.
Look at the proportion the widow received: she gave a little bit of meal and oil, but received a few years worth of food supply in return!
When you give to someone the Lord leads you to. He will pay you back much more. His grace will abound towards you so that you can be abundantly supplied for every good work!
Are you left with only a little bit of provision?
I’m sure Jesus is preparing opportunities for you to be a blessing to someone so that you can receive in abundance.
Be on the lookout with an open heart, and be excited to give cheerfully because it’s the godly way to receive multiplication of provision!
In case I’m the one the Lord leads you to be a blessing to, I will share how you can do so. Thanks in advance for we are in a similar situation as the widow 🙏
