Take a minute to enjoy the calming, therapeutic sounds of Sarawak's Sape. I think it's just what our souls need today, amidst the chaos and distress this pandemic has caused.
We could also do with the gentle smile of our first Dayak Miss Universe, the lovely @francisca.luhong (whose IG I got this footage from).
God knows we need all the positive energy and good vibes during this time, to help our nation recover and heal.
Gawai Dayak is a day when the indigenous tribes of Sarawak give thanks, drive away all that is evil, and uphold and celebrate their traditions.
"Gayu-guru, gerai-nyamai, lantang-senang nguan menua” which roughly means “may you live long and healthy, and have a prosperous life”.
Happy Gawai to all the beautiful people of Sarawak, as well as our brothers and sisters in Sabah who are celebrating the Kaamatan festival too. Kotobian tadau tagazo do kaamatan!
