IIUM Boad of Governors Meeting
Today is a special BOG meeting. I have the pleasure to welcome the new board member Honorable Datuk Seri Dr Mazlan Yusuff, Secretary General of Ministry of Higher Education to BOG of IIUM. He will also be the Deputy Chairman of the BOG. I have the same pleasure to welcome Madam Che Nazli from MOF to IIUM BOG.
It was a great pleasure of welcoming all other members of BOG consisting of H.E. Ambassadors from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Egpyt respectively as well as H.E. Assistant Secretary General of OIC calling from Jeddah and Br Amir (being Alumni representative) calling from Bosnia.
After the meeting, we adjourned to a special lunch to honour the former Deputy Chairman of IIUM BOG, Dato' Gazali Abas (2018-2020), who is also the former Secretary General of Ministry of Education. Dato' Gazali has retired from the goverment service recently after serving for 37 years for this beloved nation.
The luncheon was to say thank you to Dato' Gazali and to wish him every success.
In my short speech, I commented that "the beginning and ending of a journey is not that as important as the journey itself".
The IIUM community had enjoyed working with Dato' Gazali for the last 2 years and we will keep the good memory of this journey forever.
"You are indeed the friend of IIUM and we will always welcome you to our fraternity", I ended my short speech.
Welcome Datuk Seri Dr Mazlan Yusoff to IIUM and good bye Dato' Gazali Abas. Our prayer are always with you.
