A day to remember.

I am sooooooo proud of my child.
She slept from 7pm-730am, all on her own!! (Ok, she woke up once at 1030pm from a nightmare, but went bk to sleep mins later after patting her.) Apart from that, she slept through the night for the very first time without sleep training! Ahhhhhhhh.. what a dream you are, Layla Woo!

Just a few days ago, i was talking to a friend about how Layla is ready to be sleep trained. But i know i am too weak hearted to practise Cry It Out method with her. In my heart, i knew i would be okay even if she continues to wake up once at 4am for a prolonged period of time. So my plan was to just let it be and not sleep train her.

But what i did tho, was to start weaning her off the swaddle. So last night, we let her sleep with 1 hand out. I was prepared for her to not sleep well since she'll need time to adjust. I was ready to be awake a few times at night.

At 430am, i woke up to check on the baby monitor, she was sound asleep. So i went back to sleep, expecting to be awake in the next half an hour. The next thing i know, i jumped up at 7am with rock hard and leaking breasts, and my baby was still sleeping. Aww, I wanted to cry! Soooo proud of her, this little champion!

For the rest of the day, she also decided that she's ready to master her flip! 2 weeks ago, she flipped for the first time. But i felt it done unintentionally. And since then she didn't do it again. But yesterday, she flipped over again again. Eager and excited to practise this newfound skill! I am such a proud mama, cheering her on with every flip!

It's now 520am. I just pumped. Layla has upgraded to a sleep sack from a swaddle. And from the looks of it, will be sleeping through the night too! I can't be more proud of her. She's saved me from the traumatic experience of sleep training her!

I wrote this post not to boast. But to remind myself of such beautiful days. Bcos with a baby, everything is a surprise, everything is unpredictable. She can be STTN tonight and going into sleep regression the next. So on nights like these, i celebrate!

Firstly, relax, don't be angry later the caca will be merba.

Fever usually happens when
1. Children are infected with germs (either virus or bacteria)
2. When the kids want to be good at doing something
(because the body gets a little stressful).
3. When playing hot for too long
4. When shocked at something example of falling in bed
(body becomes a little stressful)
5. After being stabbed
(body wants to interact with medicine)

Every house must have a thermometer.

Buy a little better so that we don't get wrong looking at our child's body temperature.
It's okay to spend a little more on the necessary and important things.

Check the temperature of the child.
Normal temperature is 36-37.4 degrees selsius.
37.5-37.9 is subfebrile (a little fever)
38.5 and above is considered high fever.

If the child's temperature exceeded 38.5 degrees selsius, it's better for the child to have a back medicine.
But, if you're not confident and don't know how much you have to give (sins), give a regular fever medicine (liquid) and wipe your children or bathe them.

It's better to give medicine for 6-8 hours of fever.

Re-check the child's temperature half an hour after the medicine is given.

If the temperature drops, alhamdulillah.
Then must watch the temperature again.

If it doesn't come down, look at her condition.

Take all her clothes off.

Don't put your child in thick clothes or socks.

Don't be angry at the doctor or mission or the assistant of a medical officer who poke twice.

Can you give antibiotics to your children?
Cannot.
Must check blood first whether to start antibiotics or not.

And please remove the past antibiotics. You must take antibiotics by dose and spend a week. If there is extra, please throw it away.

Can I just give back medicine because my child is hard to take medicine?
Cannot.
Back medicine is given when the temperature is ridiculous and can't exceed twice a day or over three days.

It reduces body temperature quickly so it's quite dangerous if given if the temperature is not high (bottom 38)

Can a child drink coconut water during fever?
Can. Just don't overdo it.

Can a child drink 100 plus during fever?
Cannot.
Carbonated drinks are not good for children or adults.
Those who have no gas can't be because 100 plus contains high electrolyte content and causes dehydration to get worse.

Can I give ice cream when my child has a fever?
Can.

Again, after 4 years, we revisit Dr Razak's clinic to get Ilon's circumcision done. Still not used to seeing our baby getting snipped, we try our best not to cry. Poor fella.

But be rest assured that he was ok. Dr Razak had used a local anaesthesia and the crying was only because in order for the procedure to be done, Ilon’s leg was strapped down so there’s less movement and that was uncomfortable for Ilon who normally prefers lying down on his tummy instead.

Half an hour later, there was some swelling but 3 hours later, it went down.

I just had to ensure I placed the cream (which is actually eye ointment) over his penis over the next couple of days. As predicated by the Dr, the wound healed beautifully. Praise God. No fever, no swelling. No pus. Dr Razak is one the best children surgeon in the country.

To those not familiar, “sunat Khitan” or circumcision is a recommended practice for male Muslims. Those days, the sunat happens when the boy is 6-9 years old and this is so the penis is easier to clean when a bit of the foreskin is removed.

Research shows it’s less traumatic when the circumcision is done from 0-3months old.

全部食材配方列表如下:

主食材:
雞腿 6隻 和 大骨腿 2隻 (或全部用雞腿 8隻)

醃料粉漿材料:
太白粉 20公克
低筋麵粉 20公克
地瓜粉 20公克
常溫開水 30cc
鹽 10公克
味精 10公克
胡椒鹽 12公克
五香粉 2小匙 (約4公克)
(也可用 1/2小匙 百草粉替代五香粉, 炸出來的香味更濃郁突出)
全蛋 2顆
沙拉油或芥花油 100cc

油鍋炸油:
油炸用油適量(能蓋滿雞腿的油量,建議用油炸專用油)

做法:
1. 先準備好醃漬雞腿的濕粉漿粉料調味料(上列醃料粉漿材料)
2. 準備一醃漬鋼盆, 放入所有備齊的醃料粉漿材料, 用打蛋器將所有醃料粉漿材料等全部打到均勻混合呈現光亮狀態
3. 將雞腿仔細去除細毛後洗淨, 再用廚房紙巾擦乾雞腿表面水分
4. 將雞腿一隻隻放入打好的醃漬粉漿中, 並讓每隻雞腿都有均勻醃漬到粉漿, 將醃漬鋼盆蓋好保鮮膜放冰箱冷藏醃漬18小時以上
5. 放冰箱醃漬期間每6個小時需拿出來翻拌雞腿1次再放回冷藏, 其目的是讓每隻雞腿都能均勻醃漬入味
6. 18小時後將冰箱醃漬好的雞腿取出, 再次翻拌勻後放置常溫下半小時
7. 準備一油鍋, 油量須蓋過欲炸雞腿數量, 油溫請預熱後恆定溫在170~175度之間
8. 雞腿炸前將先雞皮整理好並裹上濕粉漿, 再稍甩落些溼粉漿, 使其雞腿上一層薄薄的濕粉漿後放入油鍋
9. 雞腿下油鍋後先不要去翻動, 等2分鐘讓雞腿炸定型後再翻動, 每隻雞腿油炸時間15分鐘
10. 油炸15分鐘時間到後取出雞腿瀝乾油分, 趁熱食用


Recipe

Main Ingredients:
6 chicken drumsticks and 2 chicken leg quarters
(or all use chicken drumsticks)

Ingredient Of Marinades:
20g Potato starch
20g Low gluten flour(Cake flour)
20g Sweet potato starch(Tapioca starch)
30cc Water
10g Salt
10g MSG
12g Pepper salt
4g Chinese five spices powder
(If you don't like the taste of chinese five spices powder,
you can use the 2g thyme powder & 2g garlic powder replace it.)
2 Eggs
100cc Soybean oil or Canola oil

Fried oil:
Appropriate amount
(Oil quantity must over the number of chicken legs and
recommended the use of fried special oil; Soybean oil or Canola oil second.)

Method:
1.Prepare all Ingredient Of Marinades for chicken legs.(Please see the above list.)
2.Take a mixing bowl.
3.Add all ingredient of marinades in the mixing bowl.
4.Mix all ingredient of marinades.
5.Prepare the Main Ingredients. (Please see the above list.)
6.Carefully remove the fine hair on chicken legs, wipe dry the surface of chicken legs with kitchen paper towels after cleaning.
7.Put the chicken legs one by one in the marinade.
8.Have each chicken leg coated with marinade.
9.Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap.
10.Put in the refrigerator, marinate chicken legs for 18 hours.
11.During the marinade, stir well the chicken legs every 6 hours.(Purpose to make each chicken leg delicious.)
12.Remove the marinated chicken legs from the fridge after 18 hours.
13.Stir well again after placing half an hour at room temperature.
14.Prepare a deep fryer with oil quantity over the number of chicken legs.
15.Preheat deep-fry oil temperature to 170-175℃ (338-347℉) and then control the oil temperature in this range.
16.Before frying chicken legs, adjust the chicken skin first.(Let the chicken legs look good after frying.)
17.Then wrap the chicken legs in a thin layer of marinade, deep-fry them.
18.Chicken fried time 15 minutes and set the alarm.
19.Do not flip the chicken legs first, then flip the chicken legs 2 minutes later.
20.After the 15 minutes, pinch out the fried chicken legs and drain the oil.
21.Fried chicken legs have all been completed; eat hot and crispy.
