《三个宝》/ Three Treasures
~~~~
Hey KL! I have a little surprise exhibit this week. I have three paintings installed at @thezhongshanbuilding this week, featuring my three grandparents who I was lucky to have gone through lockdown with from March to May this year. I’ve used materials I could source at home (coffee cups, coffee and some brown acrylic paint) to create their portraits. In Chinese, there’s a saying, “家有老人是个宝” (Having an elderly person at home is a treasure). The pandemic made me realize how vulnerable and precious my old folks are, and how lucky I am to have them with me. I got them to give me their best smiles for my photo reference! Two of them are camera-shy, one is less so! This is just a sneak peek; will post more soon!
時尚設計大師溫慶珠訪談羅展鵬第1/4篇
在幽暗曠野上尋光的孩子
文字/鍾瑩貞 CHUNG Yin Chen
引言:
像是拋棄世俗皮囊般,他選擇獨自背上行囊,一個人前往未知,緩慢以自我步調行走在曠野之上。路上,偶爾會有小狗陪伴,但常常僅是無聲,一股像是穿越時空的沉默,足以讓人挖掘、掏空、反芻、打破、再生,一次又一次,重覆再重覆,他不厭其煩的想用畫筆尋找自我,尋找內在那個隱藏已久卻閃閃發光的孩子……
內文:
他說:「永遠都要面對未知,像在曠野裡徘徊尋找,才會找到一條路。走著走著,可能發現前行的大師們早已經過,我會發現他們殘餘的篝火,也會依稀看到一點新方向,接著,繼續摸索的走下去……我覺得創作像是如此。」
從最早的草莓族系列作品,陰鬱中充滿光鮮色彩,一絲不苟、比照片更加真實的具象繪畫;到近期卸下大量色彩、拋棄巨幅畫布,轉換為一種更加純粹、沉靜的氛圍,你會以為他變了,但其實他只是選擇了反璞歸真。「我的人生有兩個階段,以前是想超越人類的手,挑戰極限,力求完美且十分巨大;但現在,我是跟空間、氣候、季節、溫度與濕度一起作畫,我想回到『手的溫度』,它有缺點,但缺點就是我,也是人類的魅力。」
一開始畫大眾所謂的「美女」時,就只是畫生活週遭的友人,想藉由她們傳達身分認同、國族認同、貧富差距等問題,也想挖掘屬於台灣印記的文化特徵,因為他認為台灣從根本論述上就避諱談「如何面對自己」。 (待續)
The Child Seeking for Light on the Dim Plains
By CHUNG Yin Chen
Prologue
As if trying to be rid of the mundanity of the world, he chooses to travel solo into the unknown with a rucksack on his back, paving his way through the plains at his own pace. The occasional company of a puppy on the journey is often silent, a silence that pierces through time and space, encouraging one to investigate, empty, reiterate, break away and reborn over and over again, as he tirelessly seeks for the hidden yet radiant child within himself through his paint brushes.
Content
He says: “One is always faced with the unknow, as if searching for a trail on a wild plain. The past masters may have already made the same journey, and I may find new directions from the ashes left from their campfires and continue to explore the path…I sense that making art is just like this.”
From the hyperrealistic figurative paintings of the early “Strawberry Generation” series which consist of bright colours with contrasting dark atmosphere to Lo’s recent abandonment of large-scale canvases and vivid colours in favour of unalloyed and tranquil compositions, one may wonder if he had changed. But as a matter of fact, he had not altered at all, he had simply chosen to go back to the purest beginning of his art. “There have been two different stages in my life. I had wanted to challenge the human capacity in pursue of perfection and grandeur, but now I work with the space, weather, season, temperature and humidity around me, for I want to deliver the “warmth of my hands” despite their flaws. The flaws are part of me, and they are also the charms of human as a species.”
The paintings of the so-called “beauties” in the public eye were simply portraits of friends within Lo’s social circle. Through the portraits of these females, the artist aimed to explore multiple social issues such as identity, nationality, economic inequality, as well as investigating the cultural significance that is unique to Taiwan as a nation. For he believed the question of “how to inspect oneself” has always been avoided in the Taiwanese society...(to be continued)
【一天分享一首歌之第24天】〈Vincent〉/ Don McLean
大年初四,祝我農曆生日快樂。今天來聽一首許多人熟悉的老歌,是唐恩麥克林45年前寫來緬懷畫家梵谷的〈Vincent〉——或在許多人記憶中,這首歌叫做〈Starry Starry Night〉。「Starry, starry night / Paint your palette blue and gray...」輕巧的吉他搭配清透的歌聲,是音樂最純直美麗的模樣。
據麥克林自己說,這首歌詞是他在一次空閒時讀完梵谷的傳記,靈感與衝動一來,即時寫完的。一句句其實精心地指涉了好多張梵谷的畫作,或畫中常見的元素如麥田、太陽花、或他的自畫像:「Portraits hung in empty halls / Frameless heads on nameless walls / With eyes that watch the world and can't forget」真是好孤單的臉龐。
但他真正想表達、想唱的是:「如今我終於明白,那些你試著告訴我的,那種種理性帶給你的痛,及你多麼想要透過藝術,帶給他們自由⋯⋯只可惜他們不懂。他們大概永遠不會懂。(Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me / And how you suffered for your sanity / And how you tried to set them free / They would not listen, they're not listening still / Perhaps they never will)」
藝術創作是孤獨的,是在私密的花園等待靈感降臨,靈感可能永遠不會來,也可能眷顧了你一陣子,又突然消失了。留下茫然無助的自己在原地,急著想回到過去,都快急哭了。然從梵谷暴烈的一生,那日益扭曲狂亂的視野中,唐恩麥克林讀到了他想掙脫,想留住雙眼看見的風景,想尋求自由的那種美麗。而他用歌聲表達這一切,表達他的疼惜和不捨,表達對那濃烈的星光閃爍的夜空的嚮往。那佈滿星星的夜呀,是多麼想被瞭解,多麼渴望被擁抱?
今晚話有點太多了。跟大家分享這首,讓我們再聽一次心疼的歌聲。晚安囉。
“Vincent” by Don McLean
Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land
Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand
Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you
Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will
但是這個東西沒有讓他覺得自滿,但是由於他懂得
怎樣去跟這些名畫的交易商談價錢還有抬高價錢,
因此大部分的名畫都可以買到很好的價錢,
那大家都知道,我們想起畢加索,就會想起那些抽象畫,
而這些抽象畫才是他真正賺大錢的名畫。
在那個時候,從來沒有人做過這些超現實主義的畫,就是這種抽像畫
可以說是在創作裡面的一片藍海,但是要讓歐洲的畫商
還有收藏品的收藏家,接受那麽前衛的作品,
需要非常好的營銷還有編排,而他非常善於社交還有非常有商業頭腦,
成功的把這些非常前衛的抽象畫賣到了歐洲的貴族的手中,
大家看看這一幅畫,這幅叫【讀書】,畫的就是他的情人Walter,
在2011年倫敦拍賣裏面,成功以2520萬英鎊拍賣給一名俄羅斯的商人。
而且他是打電話來訂的。
畢加索一生裏面創作最少有37000副畫,在他死後留下來兩億美金的財產,
以通膨來計算,到現在為止大概價值100-200億美金,
當中還有幾萬副畫,還有一些別墅和雕像留給了他的後代。
那麼問題來了
為何梵高和畢加索,兩個都是畫畫的天才,
但是兩者的遭遇為什麼會不一樣呢?那梵高究竟做少的什麼東西呢?
1. 不善於社交還有公關,他鄙視那些販賣藝術品的商人,
覺得他們是在侮辱了藝術,就好像劉青雲講的一樣:
‘做人公關不好,食屎啦,沒公關,屎都沒得食’
2. 包裝和銷售
產品每一個都需要經過包裝,還有有一個銷售的技巧方能賣出
這些東西都是梵高沒有做到的
3. 情緒管理
就是因為他的之前愛情的問題。。。
啊~不是愛情啦~單戀的那些問題,所有他在情緒上沒有管理好
4.這個是最重要,他就是低估了自己藝術品的價值。
那麼我們把這些東西放在自己的身上,我們有時會覺得自己的價值不高,
覺得自己不值那個價錢,我應該只適合這些工作,或者是領這一些薪水。
那我來跟大家講一個例子,一罐在超市裡面的可樂,
和一罐在馬爾代夫度假村裡面的可樂是不是一樣的呢?
可樂的本質其實沒有改變過,在馬爾代夫的可樂其實還是可樂,
並不會特別的好喝,
但是在超市的一罐賣Rm2,馬爾代夫的一罐買USD8,(不知道,應該更貴吧)
整整相差了RM30,那麼究竟是哪裡的分別呢?
重點在於如何讓顧客覺得值得,而不是你自己覺得值得
只要讓顧客覺得值得,那麼他用多少錢來買都可以
就好像梵高的畫一樣,他一生裡面只買過一副畫,
而且還是他親戚幫他買的,賣了400,
但是他死後他的畫在拍賣會上,最高的那一個
是7。。。8250多萬美金,不懂有幾千幾萬倍?
那我們來想啦~為什麼買畫的人覺得7150萬美金值得呢?
那除了它是獨一無二之外,畫背後的淒慘故事,
這幅畫帶給他的感覺等等
也有可能是因為這幅畫的投資價值,還有背後的那些故事
那所有他才買了這幅畫。
所以銷售就是要讓顧客覺得你的價錢值得,而不是你自己覺得值得。
讓顧客覺得值得,除了就是一些基本的條件
例如是品質啊~或者是公司的名氣等等,更重要的就是情緒,
80%的購買都是感性(情緒)而做出決定的,尤其是在這麼貴的東西身上,
理性的原因根本不可能成為他購買的關鍵。
那麼情緒購買,大概可以分為5種:
1. 視覺效果
那視覺效果,除了就是產品的包裝,產品的一些廣告之外
那個銷售人員(的外表)也是很重要的,
那如果彭于晏和八兩金一起賣同一個產品給你,
那你自己覺得是選誰呢?那答案就是很明顯的
不然賣跑車的商家幹嘛聘請一大堆的模特兒來賣跑車呢?
2. Pride ,就是身份和地位的象徵
如果你能讓顧客,在買了你的產品過後,
他的身份和地位會比以前不一樣,或者變得與眾不同
儘管那不一定會成為事實
但是那種感覺會讓他們,得到嚮往的生活。
就好像賣屋子的人一樣,他為什麼要花那麼多錢,
去做好那個示範屋呢?
原因就是讓顧客覺得他們以後的家園就會是這樣的,
那就從此過著幸福快樂的生活,那當然啦~不一定會達成
但你有讓他有那種感覺是最重要的
還有一些就是Limited edition, 就是獨一無二的那些東西
也是非常好賣的
3. 貪婪
讓顧客覺得賺到的一個假象,也是利用他貪婪的其中一種
例如好像那種promotion啊!買一送一啊~
那種其實是用這種因素的
4. 喜歡和偏愛,這個不需要解釋,喜歡就是喜歡
如果他是喜歡你的產品,喜歡你的人,或者是喜歡那個品牌
對於那個品牌有一定的偏愛
那麼根本不需考慮到其他理性的因素。
5. 恐懼
恐懼也是其中一個購買的因素,例如好像有限期的Promotion,
或者是你錯過了這個就會賣更貴啊~類似好像那種Promotion
好像保險的銷售其實也是利用恐懼這一個點,來做銷售的
那麼大家的人生想做梵高還是畢加索呢?由你自己來決定!
最後送上畢加索的一句話,這句話其實是蠻有意思的
我們都知道藝術並不是真相,它只是尋找真相的一個謊言,
所以藝術家需要會講解還有說服,讓大家明白你的謊言
那好啦!今天的影片就到這裡啦,
最近我的工作其實是很忙
那今天我就來嘗試一下激勵和自我成長的一個主題,
那當然啦~奇異世界的影片還是照樣會做的
那如果大家想看什麼主題的話~,歡迎大家留言給我讓我知道吧!
那好啦~我們下個奇異世界見,Bye Bye
