【回應越南網民疑慮批評 東亞及東南亞團結對抗中共掘起】

Xin chào các bạn Việt Nam: Hôm qua, mình đã sử dụng thuật ngữ "con khỉ Việt Nam" trong bài đăng trên Facebook của mình. Mình có ý đó là mỉa mai, vì những người theo chủ nghĩa dân tộc Trung Quốc luôn sử dụng thuật ngữ phân biệt chủng tộc chống lại mình. Mình không bao giờ có ý định xúc phạm các bạn. Mình xin lỗi vì sự hiểu lầm và đã loại bỏ thuật ngữ trong bài viết của mình. Mình biết nhiều người Việt Nam yêu tự do từ lâu đã ủng hộ Hồng Kông. Chúng tôi nên cùng nhau đấu tranh cho dân chủ!

本文原意為以日本河童和越南猴子等小粉紅曾使用的字眼，反諷喜歡侮辱我的中國網民；怎料激起越南網友以為我有意詆毁他們，其實我完全沒有這個意思，在此向各位越南人致歉，我也為免誤會，經已在此帖刪除越南此一字詞。
又另外，就著經常被指稱為越南人一事，其實我作為土生土長，於香港出生的香港人，自己家族四代也與越南沒有任何淵源，族譜裏據悉也沒有人曾在越南出生或在當地工作⋯⋯
不過縱然如此，在抵抗威權的戰線上，我也非常希望與東亞地區的朋友一起努力，尤其是不管香港還是越南等東南亞國家還是香港，在過去也深深感受到中國勢力擴張帶來的負面影響，我們定必團結一致對抗暴政。
最後奉勸小粉紅們，不要再以為抵毀我作越南人會有甚麼作用了，這只是說明從牆來出征的網民，只是在玩弄種族主義，反映質素何其低劣 :)

中文部份是我的翻譯。
我把這三種解釋翻成
1. 沉穩，端莊，穩重，莊嚴
2. 尊嚴
3. 尊嚴，自尊
修正後:
1. 沉穩，端莊，穩重，莊嚴
2. 受尊崇，受推崇，受器重，受尊敬
3. (自我的) 尊嚴，自尊[指自我認同(感)]
請問 2. 3. 看起來中文都可以翻成尊嚴，那麼2.3.的解釋有何不同或差異呢?

其他的字典也是有三個解釋 (Collings Advanced L D)
1. 沉穩，端莊，穩重，莊嚴
2. 尊貴，高貴，高尚
3. 尊嚴，自尊

但我看不出來OALD的解釋中 2. 3. 其中有"尊貴，高尚"的意思
所以OALD 把2. 3. 分開是有差別嗎?

但翻成中文 還是只有 "尊嚴"
我想我們不會講 "有自尊地死去"，也不會講 "工作上的自尊"
這樣的中文很怪
也許是我沒把問題講清楚
我的問題是 "就中文翻譯"來說
2. 3. 在中文上似乎沒有特別的區別
(我知道2.是別人給的respect, 3. 是自己給自己的respect/importance)
但2.3.在翻譯上可以有明確的中文翻法嗎?

某些情況或許可以 但某些情況不一定 要看上下文
英文若要講自尊 可以用self-respect 會比用dinity來得好很多
至於2.3.的中文翻譯 皆翻成"尊嚴"是否可以
就我來看 是可以的 如d 大所講 有些東西中文有區別 英文沒有
有些英文 有區別 中文沒有
我個人是不會講"工作的自尊" 但可以接受"工作的尊嚴"
原因是因為"自尊"是自己針對自己的，而OALD 2.的定義是
2 the fact of being given honour and respect by people
這很明顯是別人給的，別人給的榮耀或尊重
既然是別人給的 翻成"自尊" 就不太應該
所以如果翻成"尊嚴" 嚴格說起來 也不太對(因為尊嚴也不應該是別人給的) 但是
若是兩種只能選一的話 那我個人會選"尊嚴"

但是根據OALD的解釋2. the fact of being given honour and respect by people
應該有更好的翻譯
所以我會把2.的翻譯修正成"受尊崇"，"受推崇"，"受尊敬"， "受敬重" 或"受器重"
(因為這些解釋大都帶有別人給的而不是全自己感覺到的意思)
所以
the dignity of work
(工作所受到推崇，尊崇/敬)
當然這是純就2.的定義所做的解釋，用在例句中
也是要看上下文來做判斷的。
至於OALD 3 a sense of your own importance and value
我覺得Collins把它翻成"自尊"，"尊嚴"
是可以都接受的。
It's difficult to preserve your dignity when you have no job and no home.
(當你沒有了工作也沒有了家的時候是很難保有你自己的尊嚴。)
(當你沒有了工作也沒有了家的時候是很難保有你自己的自尊。)
這兩句話 我覺得是都可以接受的。
不過再次重申 "自尊"與"尊嚴" 是不是能互換 還是得看上下文與例句來決定才會
比較好。

並不是要來取代原本的翻譯
要刪的話 應該請Collins刪才對
我可以補充說明 此處的自尊應指"自己價值的認同"
而非自尊心的自尊
OALD跟Collins還有 LDOCE寫的很清楚
"對自我重要性及價值的認同感與他人所給予的敬重/尊敬"---Collins
難道這些英英解釋對你一點意義都沒有嗎?
這樣的解釋翻成"自尊"雖然有可能跟自尊心的自尊搞混也不盡理想，但尚可接受
我雖然覺得自尊心的"自尊" 用self-respect比較好 但不能排除dignity在某些情況下
有可能翻成"自尊"否則Collins也不會那樣翻
補充:LDOCE
2 your dignity: your sense of your own value or importance
也許你可以請Collins先拿到"自尊" 那麼我倒是很樂意也把自尊拿掉
不過倒是可以增加一個"自我認同"的解釋進去。

第三點的自尊 是Collins翻的 不是我翻的，我憑什麼要刪?
況且 我所說的"工作(的)自尊" 不宜是建立在這個"自尊"若是指
自尊心的自尊(self-respect)的話 那就不太適合，
"工作(的)尊嚴"會比較"工作(的)自尊"好
至於若解釋成"工作(上)所受到的尊崇" 是沒問題的
但若是要說"工作(的)自尊" = "工作(上)所受到的尊崇"
那就不宜，看來你似乎還是不懂我為什麼會說"工作(上)的自尊"不好的原因。
