「權宜」夫婦是台灣人，男的學美術，女的學音樂，大學未畢業就已成婚。畢業後，更不顧家人反對，決意在投身社會前踏單車環遊世界。他們絕非大富大貴，成行也是仰賴親朋戚友捐款支持。就這樣，他們用兩年時間，遊歷了日本、歐洲、北美、大洋洲等地。
讀這本書的最大感動，是人情。阮囊羞澀的兩夫婦，各自憑一輛單車就在世間餐風露宿，面對的除了自然挑戰，還有疆域困阻，難度可想而見。幸而，不同時間總有恩人現身施援，難題方能迎刃而解。這些人大多是萍水相逢，小則賜予食物，大則提供住宿，甚至代付醫療費用！也許就如小說家科爾賀所說的：「只要誠心渴求，整個宇宙自會聯手幫你達成夢想。」
相信看完這本書，你即使不至於立即效法他們環遊世界，但相信也會有衝動騎上單車，感受世間不一樣的景致。

I cycled around Taiwan about five years ago. What I remember most was the cheering and assistance of all kinds I got from passers-by.
The Taiwanese couple who wrote the book were determined to cycle around the world after graduating and before starting work despite opposition from their parents. They weren’t rich so their trip was only possible with the donation of their relatives and friends. In two years, they had been to Japan, Europe, North America and Oceania and more.
The human touch moved me most reading this book. Despite all the challenges the authors encountered, people came to their aid. Most of these people had just a passing acquaintance with them but were willing to offer help from food to accommodation and even medical fees. Perhaps that’s what novelist Paulo Coelho meant by “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
Even though you may not go as far as cycling around the world like them after reading this book, I believe you would have the urge to ride a bike to enjoy the exceptional scenery.
