Wait for the Right Time

“He restored the chief cup bearer to his position again, and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand; but he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet the chief cup bearer didn’t remember Joseph, but forgot him.” (Genesis‬ ‭40:21-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We all want our season of promotion and blessedness to come immediately. However, before that season, there is usually a quiet one of preparation.

In Joseph’s life, he was in prison for a crime he did not commit. After interpreting the dreams of two royal subjects, Joseph told them to remember him before Pharaoh, but the chief butler forgot about Joseph.

Just like that, two years went by. Can you imagine how disappointed Joseph must have felt? He might have thought, “Am I ever getting out of this prison, or will I spend my whole life in here?”

You may be feeling the same way. Your circumstances may be like a prison whereby you are existing, but not truly living the “life more abundantly” that Jesus died for you to have.

For a person who has a sickness, the abundant life would look like a healthy body that can do anything without feeling weakness or pain.

For a person who is lonely, the abundant life would look like having a spouse that he can share his life with.

For a person who is poor and in debt, the abundant life would look like having all debts paid and having more than enough savings to even be a blessing to others.

Was Joseph destined to stay in prison for the rest of his life? Let’s read the story:

“At the end of two full years, Pharaoh dreamed: and behold, he stood by the river...In the morning, his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all of Egypt’s magicians and wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh. Then the chief cup bearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, “I remember my faults today. Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, me and the chief baker. We dreamed a dream in one night, I and he. We dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream. There was with us there a young man, a Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard, and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams. To each man according to his dream he interpreted. As he interpreted to us, so it was. He restored me to my office, and he hanged him.” Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. He shaved himself, changed his clothing, and came in to Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It isn’t in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”” ;‭‭Genesis‬ ‭41:1, 8-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

So two years after interpreting the chief butler’s dream, Joseph was freed from prison and brought before Pharaoh.

The moment of Pharaoh having the two prophetic dreams signaled God’s appointed time for Joseph’s deliverance. Those two dreams were Joseph’s door of hope in the midst of his trouble. The gift of interpreting dreams was the key in Joseph’s hand.

But why did God take so long before freeing Joseph? Technically, He could have given the dream to Pharaoh earlier than that.

“But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, he was responsible for it. The keeper of the prison didn’t look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.” (Genesis‬ ‭39:21-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In the prison, Joseph was put in charge of the other prisoners—it was a leadership role. During this time of quiet, mundane, routine living, God was sculpting Joseph into a man fit to be the prime minister of Egypt, to lead the whole nation of Egypt.

Perhaps you are also in a season of quiet preparation. Your talents are unknown to the world, but God is training you for the larger role He has prepared for you—your eventual destiny.

Many heroes in the Bible went through a quiet season like that: Moses tended sheep in the land of Midian before he was sent to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. David shepherded his father’s sheep and killed a lion and a bear before he had the opportunity to fight Goliath. Gideon was a coward before God called him and turned him into a valiant hero who routed the Midianites with just three hundred men. Jesus spent thirty years in obscurity, being in close communion with the Father until it was time to begin His public ministry.

If the chief butler had told Pharaoh about Joseph any earlier, Pharaoh would have just brushed it aside. The dreams had to come first.

While you are waiting, God has already prepared the equivalent of Pharaoh’s dream to take you to a higher level at the right time. Waiting time with God is not wasted time. He is training you every day, little by little—with each Scripture, each prayer, each interaction with others, and each challenge that you overcome through faith.

If you are feeling delayed, just like Joseph was for two years in the prison, remember that delay is not denial! God is still sculpting you, and when you are ready, He will display His masterpiece for all to see.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: why did she become an ex? because she is EXperienced! let go and start! Appreciate those who appreciate more. if it wasn't a good love before. it's time to prove we can be the best love! Let go.. start a new story that can be the most beautiful story for children and grandchildren. God willing.

Situation 3: TESTED WITH ATTITUDE
temptation: suddenly engagement becomes too sensitive, angry, less patient

IMPORTANT NOTE, when you want to marry. Definitely putting us in a stressful level. Because there's a lot of things to think about, settled. Added to the feeling of commitment (feeling like a husband, wife), so he becomes more care. Simple things become complicated. The devil has added a dose to cancel the good things. It's getting more exploding! Patience.. this time everyone has to play a role. You won't settle things in anger. Invite to pray, to study. take ablution. When two two are calm. Discuss without emotion. the important thing is. Remember the original intention! Married because of Allah. Look at the problem. Discuss the discharge. Don't focus on the cause. lower your ego and learn to accept and listen. insyaAllah will be better than before fighting.

Situation 4: TESTED WITH HOUBT
temptation: do you want to marry him? but why?. don't you feel young anymore? Many more ambitions to achieve? Are you ready to be a wife? and etc

This one is all natural. Married because I want to accept Allah. If you want to chase the world, until when will we stop chasing? maybe we die running after him. Stop thinking negatively! No one is ready. The most important thing is try to be ready. Seek knowledge (read books, talk and others). Is it a question that I can't be a wife or a daughter that's the experience. Repair from mistakes. example, cooking is not delicious, after this fix the cooking. We won't be perfect. But we can work hard, right? Change the mindset!

Temptation II: is it true that I want to marry him. If you want to say (rich or handsome or good or good or....) that A person looks better than my fiance
* istigfar. back with the original intention. Married because of what? This is a partner even though we clearly see the shortcomings, his weaknesses, we can't hate. even though her face may be full of acne and others. We feel calm looking at it. When you fight, you still feel like being together. Praying to Allah so that the love of him will be stronger, the love of Allah is stronger

Situation 5. PRESSURE OF FAMILY & FAMILY OF FUTURE HUSBAND

Temptation: When you know the family of future couples, setting up dowry, etc, there may be a terrible sense of their decision.

No matter what, we don't judge someone too quickly while we don't know them completely.
Family, feeling hearted in the family, starting to feel right to my mother-in-law will like me, is it true that my brother-in-law will be willing to me, this is all from the devil who always haunts us to cancel our good intentions

Situation 6. STARTING TO BE CAREFUL

After all sorts of tests came over, some of them started to give up and weren't interested in continuing the engagement period.

Survey first the cause of giving heart and try to solve it as long as you can.

Situation 7. EMOTIONS ARE NOT STABILOUS

Some are not happy to sit down when tying the engagement rope. Sometimes sad, angry, too happy, and some keep thinking of his fiance while some have long known his own heart.

When you're friends, you might not feel how serious this relationship is, and how committed you are to a marriage that's about to happen. So, maybe this reason makes you restless and anxious.

Situaso 8. AFRAID OF WRONG DECISION

Temptation: Between phobia and challenges during engagement, some start to show up the real 'attitude'. So, you start to feel doubtful about your choice.

Actually, as Muslims, we have to believe that all the challenges during engagement that come are from Allah, as a test to His servants.

Therefore, no matter what the challenges when engaged happen, we should always accept and ask for help from the Almighty. Truly, Allah knows more about something we don't know.

In addition, try to get closer to Allah before we set foot in the household, in preparation of being the leader and mentor of the family institutions that will be established.

As in surah Al-Imran verse 54:

′′ And They Plan, Allah also plans, And ALLAH is the best Planner ′′

Fully and Equally Saved

““For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. He went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace. He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them, ‘Why do you stand here all day idle?’ “They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ “He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’ When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’ “When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius. When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius. When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household, saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’ “But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius? Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you. Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’ So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”” (Matthew‬ ‭20:1-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Someone who has been born-again since 50 years ago is as equally saved as someone who just received Jesus as Lord moments ago.

The one denarius in the parable represents our redemption in Christ Jesus.

No matter how dedicated you are at serving Jesus, you are not more saved than a backslidden believer.

The gift of righteousness which we received through faith in Jesus cannot be increased or decreased by our works.

Salvation doesn’t happen progressively. You aren’t climbing a ladder to finally one day be saved.

The moment a person believes and confesses his faith in Jesus as Lord, he is fully saved—his spirit is complete in Christ, just as much as a leader in the church who has been a Christian for 50 years.

No matter how much persecution and trials you think you’ve suffered or endured for Jesus’ sake, recognize that you are saved purely by Grace, not by your works.

However, there is something we can earn with our good works and that is our eternal rewards which is symbolized by the rewards the faithful servants received in Jesus’ “Parable of the Minas”.

In that parable, we see that eternal rewards increase exponentially according to how faithful believers have been in using their God-given gifts for Jesus’ sake.

We believer are all fully and equally saved, but we will differ in the measure of eternal rewards we receive when we stand before Jesus’ throne in His kingdom.

Ever since the passing of my aunt's precious dog, I have spent many nights awake fearful for that dreaded day when my dogs leave me.

Knowing my dogs are getting older each year is such a bittersweet feeling. I still remember bringing them home as puppies. Time is flying which means we're having fun but it's going so fast that it genuinely scares me. I wish they live as long as humans do... I still can't bring myself to imagine life without my furry children. I'm scared for something that hopefully won't happen for a long time. For now, I cherish every single moment spent with them. Thank you so much for your kind comments on Instagram. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one with the pet fears. Thank you for also sharing your painful stories with me regarding losing a pet. You are right, what matters is that our furry friends live a happy and loved life.

I'm so thankful they still have all their teeth. I'm was SO surprised because the vet truly gave the impression that most of Domo's teeth were gonna go. I'm ashamed to admit I have never brushed their teeth in the past and now I know it is necessary despite the daily wrestle. They also have a special powder sprinkled on their food daily to help break down plaque. Going to stop with the dog mum guilt and realise better late than never. Please stay healthy and happy, my doggies. I love you so so much.
