With so many artists among my friends, I feel obliged to share what they create cause it amazes me day by day. I have fallen for Ericka's paintings last year, when attending the exhibition of famous Honduras artists (that took place in Taipei) and it was her debut. One of her paintings for some reason moved me so much - i can see my own passion in it, and the reason why I came to Taiwan, the girl who is to become a woman in the future, a Chinese who might have been deprived of education only because she was born a female; a girl abandoned by her parents for the same reason, only to receive love from another person, across the world. I can see the history of China and especially those sad stories that I read about or was told by women who experienced them. And it doesn't make me sad. It reminds me that this world is yet to be cured, and has a long way to go, but we have to start from ourselves. From being good creation of God (energy, universe or whatever you believe in) on a daily basis. I believe that even if you don't have much, there's still something you can share with others. Be it a smile. Good deeds. A shoulder to cry on. A nice word to raise someone else's soul. We were born not to harm the Mother Earth nor human beings, nor other creations! Art reminds us about the earliest instincts and need to express our spirits and emotions in its very own special way. Better than million words.
