A late birthday post for myself. I just realised that my last post was almost a month ago! Ive been so busy working on a couple of exciting projects and filling my days with meetings, appointments and fulfilling tasks (in creating the Womentum tribe) beside the usual mummying, that I hardly had time to sit down and think of social media stuff.. besides Clubhouse of course

At the beginning of the year I felt an enormous shift in myself and this tremendous desire to make a change in almost all of my daily habits. Doing things differently to create the change within myself and being in creation of the results that I desire. Unlearning and learning. Leaving old habits so that new habits can be formed.

I made a mental note to remove myself from situations that could result in me making toxic decisions. At the same time this allowed me to immerse myself in environments that would lead me towards creating successful daily habits. On a daily basis I made the intention to be in contribution to myself and to others, most of all to my society.

Little changes big results. Two companies are on its way to being formed. Akar Pohon Capital where we focus on Impact Investing. And “Womentum”, a two part social impact driven business focusing on empowering the working women community. Funny how these little decisions make big changes

They say 40 is the new 25. At 25 years old I got married, starting a new chapter in my adult life. So here’s to a fabulous new chapter from here onwards! Happy Birthday to mehhh. I’m celebrating all month by the way which means I’ll be accepting birthday makan til 31st March 😄

Saddened to hear of the passing of former US Secretary of State George P. Shultz. He was 100.

America has lost one of its most distinguished statesmen. His career spanned three presidencies. His years of service spoke of his deep commitment and dedication to his country. As the United States’ chief diplomat, he played a major role in bringing the Cold War to a peaceful end, and shaping the post Cold War international order.

Mr Shultz continued to contribute to business and academia after leaving public office, working on critical global issues and sharing his wisdom on the pressing challenges facing humankind. Just two months ago I shared the op-ed he wrote on his 100th birthday, explaining that one of the most important things he had learnt was that trust was the coin of the realm (https://go.gov.sg/wapj4w).

Mr Shultz was a close friend of my father and a trusted friend to Singapore. I was privileged to meet him many times, both in the US and here in Singapore. His life and service will remain a profound inspiration to all, an enduring legacy that will be deeply missed. – LHL

The Story:
Here's a special take of John Lennon's "Real Love" I did with my brother George for our mom's birthday. We thought it would be nice since we have never performed together or sang together like this. We've also been partial to John Lennon as a family and we chose this song for its message of universal love and hope (at least that's how we feel it).

Anyways, it's our first attempt at a music video, too so it took us awhile and it certainly was a labor of love. We spent a week recording and filming with our cheap equipment before we edited it down in iMovie and raced to the post office to send it out to good ol' Mom.

The Outcome:
Mission successful! Mom received the DVD a few days later on the other side of the world, popped it in the player and loved it!!

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.
