A golden hour moment with the part of an ancient history. When you will enter Roman Forum, you will find this wonderful church immediately to your left. This was built inside the pillars of the 2nd century Temple of Antonino and Faustina.

The church is still occasionally used for mass, but you have to access it from the street outside the Forum complex. BTW, a ticket to the Forum is not required to enter the church. 😁

I have spent a whole day in exploring colosseum, Roman Forum, and palatine hill. Yet I felt tike I couldn’t explore as much as I wanted. If you want to save time then purchasing the ticket beforehand for colosseum would be a wise decision. I had to wait 2 hours to get that. 🙄

The poet dedicated this poem to his/her friend as her birthday gift. Something I think she would treasure for life! I found this beautiful piece over internet some time ago, and saved it then.

I am not a poet, not even a decent writer. So borrowing these words to dedicate it to all the young girls, and women out there. This is the roadside view of the Ancient Trajan Column. Very close to Roman Forum. This is a Roman Triumphal column that celebrates victory of Roman emperor Trajan in the Dacian wars. Hence the name Trajan.

Our Mr. Trajan wasn’t born in Italy by the way. He was born in Spain. Then how come he became the Roman emperor?

So, amid the periods of turmoil in the history of the Roman Empire came the era of the Five Good Emperors. Instead of selection by dynastic succession, these five rulers were chosen and trained by their predecessors to ensure smooth, peaceful transitions of power.

And there comes our powerful military commander Mr. Trajan. One of the five good ancient Roman emperors. It was Trajan who not only expanded the borders of the Roman Empire, but also governed his subjects with benevolence and generosity for 19 years.

His selection as an emperor set an important precedent for Rome’s rulers. If you are qualified, and educated then any person can climb to the highest position irrespective of birth and origin! Now how cool is that? 😍 Wish politicians from all around the world could adhere to this policy too.
