95% of the lemur species are in danger of extinction! there are around 111 species of lemur which is 20% of all primate species on earth, and they are endemic to the island of Madagascar. their habitats are destroyed by illegal logging, mining and agriculture; some of the lemurs are being hunted for food or captured for illegal pet trade.
