MOFA recently hosted the ‘Exploring Golden Opportunities in the African Continent – Bridging Taiwanese Investors in Africa and African Students in Taiwan’ conference, focusing on development of trade and industry ties with #SouthAfrica, #Eswatini, #Ghana and #Somaliland and giving Taiwanese businesses a clearer picture of political and economic developments in #Africa.
MOFA Vice Minister Miguel Tsao addressed attendees at lunch and welcomed VIP guests including His Royal Highness Prince Buhlebenkhosi Dlamini of Eswatini, Representative Robert Seraki Matsebe of the Liaison Office of South Africa, Director Achilles Yeh of the trade and investment promotion section of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini and newly appointed Representative Mohamed Omar Hagi Mohamoud of #Somaliland. Vice Minister Tsao stated that there is a lot of potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between industries in Taiwan and Africa and that Taiwan also intends to use its #SoftPower on the continent, sharing its expertise in #PublicHealth, #agriculture, #educational and the #arts, talent cultivation and #innovation to forge people-to-people ties.
