I had a few options as the background color for #StillGoodEP and we were all discussing (@luftmanp , @charlesnkeys and I ) I love them all!!
Then i stoppeds for a moment and went for the first one as it reminded me of the cover of one of my favourite books #UntetheredSoul by #MichaelASinger ✨ It saved me from those days feeling called from the inside, while being snowed in confusions of my thoughts ✨ if you felt like you’re not in tuned with your heart and soul, you might wanna read it 🔮 ( all the quotes in this post are from Untethered Soul)
coincidently, back in November last year when I was going through a tough time, I found out the Japanese word for this colour ✨ they called it “mizu”… “In Japan, 'mizu' is as different from 'blue' as 'green' is from 'blue.” I guess this colour has become the representation of - well, let me try to come up with a word for it - maybe, “quietly tremendous transformation” to me, like, some sort of transitions… the kind of revolution that doesn’t happen overnight, but little by little each day💓 with both darkness and lightness ✨ if you’ve been with me through my captions, you have probably read it! ✨

I don’t take my low RIR working sets lightly. They require my all, and putting that into them usually leaves me feeling like my head, lungs and target muscles are about to explode 🤯

In the past you’ll have seen my obsession with breath work and this scene right here is probably my most effective use for it other than calming myself down to sleep or just be less stressed 😌

I first got the idea from listening to the @muscleintelligencepodcast years ago. I’m basically meditating, using my breath work to bring my heart rate back down once it’s been through the roof 📈📉 This allows me to recover as quickly as possible to throw everything at another set.

I’ll then get up and go for a quick walk to get blood flow circulating ♻️ and start thinking about how I’m going to execute my next set before returning to carry on. Obviously if I’m training with someone the walking = spotting / motivating etc.

It’s the main reason why my phone derails my workouts. I don’t go into this mode, focused on my breathing and maybe a cue or technique that had slipped during that set 🧐

Focusing on counting my breaths also keeps my mind out of the abyss of bullshit that work and women can have circling in your head if you’re sat daydreaming for 3 minutes between sets 🥴

I’ve heard many people say “oh, the gym is like meditation for me” but I’ve never heard anyone other than @bpakfitness talk about it like this. I know that for me, if my rest periods don’t require this, I’m not near my limit. That’s not always necessary anyway, but it’s a good gauge 🎚

It’s not rocket science 🚀 Am I saying you will get NO GAINS if you use standard reps on the machine? 😂 ‘Course not. Plenty have built insanely big quads kicking knee extensions into the atmosphere and hoping for the best.
Am I saying using momentum will make your knees explode on your first rep? Nope. They’d probably be illegal if so 🤨

But I like my training effort to yield as much reward as possible, with as little joint risk relative to my stimulus as possible. Therefore you won’t catch me doing volume that doesn’t either contribute to my set preparation or working stimulus, so you can miss me with under-challenged ranges or throwing inertial variables in there 👀

Simple blanket sound-bites mean people either treat this machine like football training or like they’ll catch the plague in their knee if they sit on it 🤦🏻♂️
Maybe if they were designed and used better with an appropriate understanding of how internal forces match external ones we’d get away from that 🤷🏻♂️

Another bonus of thinking about movements in terms of specific ranges? You just might be able to make them work for even more people! 😃 Think about it... is pain usually present throughout the entire range? 🤔

👍🏽 It’s one thing being obsessed with having someone capable of producing force through every range of joint positions they have available... it’s another to blindly take that to mean you should train to “FULL ROM” in every movement 🧐

With unreal seemingly being used more and more in video production and the recent early access release of Unreal Engine 5 I thought I might as well try using it. I must admit it was easier to start using than I thought it would be, at least for what I would probably use it for, which is maybe Previzing some shots or doing some simple Archviz. I think for these uses the difficult part would probably be the modeling and texturing of the 3d assets.
หลังจากที่รู้สึกว่า Unreal เริ่มมีการใช้ในการทำวีดีโอมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆประกอบกับ Unreal Engine 5 เพิ่งมีให้โหลด Early Access ออกมาเมื่อไม่นานนี้ ก็เลยตัดสินใจลองโหลดมาใช้ดูสักที ต้องบอกเลยว่าใช้ง่ายกว่าที่คิดไว้พอสมควรเลยครับ แต่อันนี้หมายถึงสิ่งที่ผมกะลองเอามาใช้นะครับไม่ได้ใช้สร้างเกมส์หรืออะไรอลังการ ถ้ากะจะเอามาใช้ทดลองจัดแสงจัดฉากงานที่จะไปถ่าย หรือเอามาทำแบบห้องแบบบ้านเพื่อลองเดินดูก่อนแต่งจริงอันนี้ผมคิดว่าโหลดมาใช้ไม่ถึงสัปดาห์ก็น่าจะใช้ได้เลยครับ ความยากหลักๆน่าจะมาจากการปั้นพวกฉากหรือสิ่งของในโปรแกรม 3D กับการใส่ Texture มากกว่า แต่การเอาเข้ามาวางใน Unreal นั้นไม่ยากเลยครับ :)
