CHRISTMAS 2020 with the family ALMOST didn't happen!

With some of us under self imposed quarantine (contact tracing), this year's family Christmas was not to be until the very last nail-biting minute
.
in the end, Chloe got to embrace her cousin she had not seen pretty much all of 2020 and we spent the night before Christmas with our immediate family
.
What looked like another family dinner, was so much more.
The kids' eyes glistened a little more, the adults indescribably grateful for every moment together. Dad even busted out a bottle of Whisky he'd been keepimg since before we were born!

The reality that we are living in a new norm now struck me like lightning at the end of the night, when my nephew didn't know if he should hug me or stand 2m away saying goodnight. I rest assured that some things remain constant though, like FAMILY. Nothing was able to stop us from coming together as a family this time. And even if we couldn't, we wouldn't stop trying for the next.
