mickey and friends movies 在 阮安祖 Andrew Ryan Facebook 的精選貼文
What we need now, more than ever, is to escape. Most of us turn to travel as a way of finding an escape, but barring that we have movies. One of the best "road movies" I've seen in recent memory is a wonderful Taiwanese film called Mickey On The Road, which premieres today (11/27) in Taiwan. It's the story of two friends who go to Guangzhou, China, in search of two different things. Although the movie is largely set in China, it's perhaps the most "Taiwanese" film I've seen in a while -- and delightfully so. There are so many details that I've never seen on screen, which instantly brought a smile to my face.
I've known the director, Lu Mian Mian, since she directed the very first play I acted in Taiwan, and she has grown from an enthusiastic theater person into an equally passionate film director, with a keen eye for detail and an immense talent for working with first-time actors. Perhaps I'm biased, but I loved the intensity and sensitivity of this riveting film. BRAVO!!!
*and yes, that's me wearing a "Mickey" shirt to the film party :D
