It was 5.20am in the morning, I suddenly woke up at this hour as I fell asleep in my room after I left my camera at the beach for time-lapse 2am in the morning. Didn't have my tripod with me (it was left inside the bus before we took the ferry to Tioman Island) hence I left my camera flat on the beach chair and let it capture the sky

I quickly went back to collect my camera, saw the first time-lapse only manage to capture moving stars. The night was cloudless so I decided to shoot a photo of the sky again and figured out the milkyway was just right on top of a different direction. Hence I went back to the room, get a jacket to beat the cold sea breeze and the gorilla pod for the best angle to capture the milky way

As a result, that day I only manage to sleep for a few hours but the moments witnessing the beautiful milkyway right on top of me? That's priceless!! Photo taken using Nikon #D750 at 14mm f2.8 ISO6400 & expose for 2 seconds. Didn't expose it longer as I wasn't using proper tripod that allow long exposure. Usually I will expose it for 30 seconds with ISO1600 for good milkyway shots with low noise. This photo was being cropped to fit insta 3:4 composition

In year 2019 I started experimenting with astrophotography for the first time, specifically photographing the milky way and creating a milky way timelapse.

In this episode I share my experience in shooting milky way timelapse with a micro four thirds system, specifically an Olympus OM-D E-M5 II and a Panasonic Lumix G85.

I talk about apps, photography equipment, and non photography gears to prepare for a night of milky way photography. I also share some ideas on camera settings, lens choice, built-in timelapse option, and noise reduction option on a micro four thirds system.

Here is a new video of my BTS series, this time I'm showing how I shoot portraits under the stars! :

To be honest, this kind of portraits are the easiest to shoot! Well, that's because for all of them the settings are the same! Here are my most used settings for Star Portraits: Shutter speed - 30 sec, F/4.5, ISO-1600, WB-2700K! For this shot I am using 12mm focal length!
