Interviewer: "One of the themes on 'Awake' was pacificsm -- the album's lyrics and songs seemed to be collected around it. But 'Kiss' feels like a break from that. Is that what you mean by 'pop'?
hyde: "Mmm ... of course that's one aspect to it, but it's also meant as a sweet expression of love. That's what's grabbing me. 'Awake' was expressing a more harsh form of love, but what's grabbing me these days is more of an affectionate love, and I think that more conventional feel works so well [for the album]. So I was hoping it would turn out that way."
