You’ll need to excuse me for my pride, but I worked so hard for this one!
I’m officially Crisel Consunji, M.Ed. 🌈
After two and a half years of attending courses— while running a business, promoting a film internationally, managing through socio-political upheaval, and going through the pandemic— it’s a bit of a small miracle that I was able to get this done.
I have to say thanks to everyone who put up with me through this journey— Carsten for giving up our weeknights so I could attend classes, to my colleagues who tolerated my zoom classes in the office, and my professors who exercised understanding and patience when I couldn’t submit my papers on time. (Heaven knows how bad my papers were during my times of stress!)
But really, people ask me why I gave so much time and resources on this project. It’s quite simple: In these past few years, I’ve realised even more how integral arts-based education is, and yet how little attention is being given to it.
Arts Education seems often relegated to the “extra-curricular” when it is in fact core curriculum in the early years. Imagine teaching numbers and letters without music, or building vocabulary without movement or creative play!
Ultimately, my big dream is to support capacity building and program support within schools, early childhood educators, community organisations, and the families themselves.
I’d consider our job done when there is arts-based learning in every early childhood school, in every community centre, and in every home.
So let’s keep moving forward! 💪🏼

"China is maneuvering for international leadership as the United States falters."
✔︎ maneuver: use cleverly planned and often dishonest methods to get the result that you want (使用精心計劃或時常是不誠實的方式以達到你想要的目的)
✔︎ falter: become weaker
當然,也是因為西方列強(美國尤其)領導力出問題,讓人趁虛而入?!(如同下方第3句)
文章 highlights:
1️⃣
"With hundreds of millions of people now isolating themselves around the world, the novel coronavirus pandemic has become a truly global event. And while its geopolitical implications (在地緣政治上的影響) should be considered secondary (次要的) to matters of health and safety, those implications may, in the long term, prove just as consequential (重要的)—especially when it comes to the United States’ global position. Global orders have a tendency to change gradually at first and then all at once."
2️⃣
"As Washington falters, Beijing is moving quickly and adeptly (精巧地) to take advantage of the opening created by U.S. mistakes, filling the vacuum to position itself as the global leader in pandemic response. It is working to tout (吹捧、宣傳) its own system, provide material assistance to other countries, and even organize other governments."
3️⃣
"Public statements by President Donald Trump, whether Oval Office addresses or early-morning tweets, have largely served to sow confusion (造成困惑) and spread uncertainty. Both public and private sectors have proved ill-prepared to produce and distribute the tools necessary for testing and response. And internationally, the pandemic has amplified (強化) Trump’s instincts to go it alone and exposed just how unprepared Washington is to lead a global response."

My Story
Hi everyone, my name is Samuel Kao, I come from Taiwan, a country that does not allow custom cars or motorcycles. It’s basically forbidden. On top of the vehicle modification restrictions, there is an exam each year for smog compliance where they also make sure the vehicle maintains a factory appearance. After the ten years of the vehicle's life, this exam is done twice a year. As if that is not enough, the vehicles purchased there are twice as expensive compared to the United States. To give you an idea of the price discrepancy between the US and Taiwan, the average college graduate is making around $700 a month while a standard 1000cc motorcycle costs $25,000USD
Building a custom motorcycle from the ground up has been a dream since I was a kid. The cost and restrictions in Taiwan made it really hard to reach that dream so I decided to come to the United States to chase my dreams in 2006. I was 24.
It was a long process, moving from Taiwan to the States meant starting from scratch. My dream of starting my own company had to wait. I decided to enroll in some College Deisgn classes to better my English and to help with the transition of being in a completely different culture. It was very hard to live without any relatives and family here but with persistence and sheer stubbornness believed I could overcome anything. Things got better over time and in 2010, I started JSK Moto Co.
With my company, I started going to lots of motorcycle shows and contests starting in 2014. At most of the judged shows, my builds were usually rewarded with first place or runner up. Having a presence at these shows helped spread my company name throughout the motorcycle industry in the US and also internationally. I’m still working very hard every day to build my brand and so happy to be where I am now. The US really is a real free country. If you put your heart i to the things you love, you can create opportunities to achieve your dreams.
If you like custom motorcycles, you are very welcome to search JSK Moto Co. We are on Facebook, Instagram, and have an official website. Please follow us on social media and feel free to send me a message.
Thank You

If you are serious about moving to Japan and studying in a Japanese Language School, I recommend "Take Me To Japan" as they give you free advice and support through the whole process.
https://takemetojapan.com/
A good first step in going to Japan is starting off by studying at a Japanese Language School. I interview foreign international students to hear their thoughts and advice about life in Japan and studying at a Japanese Language School in Tokyo.
The first step is always the hardest but you just have to take a leap of faith and go for it!! Good luck!! :)
