Nothing much going on in this pic, just me insisted on leaving the boat when we docked on an entirely bare island. It was raining quite heavily. The boatman chose a random island to stop over and made us breakfast. We had puri and daal and hard boiled egg that morning. I put on my water resistant jacket, carried a plastic chair to serve as a tripod, and took my phone out for some pics. The land was squishy, like a mixture of clay and sand. I looked around me, and imagined myself walking on another planet made of mostly water, and the planet is forever gloomy and rainy. This island is like a premature baby without a name. The land I stepped on, it was probably connected to the mother island, now separated by the water, and might be gone in a week, then new ones will be formed somewhere else in the river. They said the Brahmaputra River is an almighty river. It forms lands but it can also sweep them clean in a matter of hours, lives taken crops gone livestocks flushed away. People build houses lose houses and rebuild further into the island only to wait for the next ferocious cycle. And the story repeats.
